This is qouted directly from "Support" in the KitCore with Cubase/Nuendo forum:

Update:

Submersible Music is currently working with Steinberg to resolve all issue which relate to KitCore and DrumCore 3 working in Cubase 5 on the Windows platform. While these problems are not affecting all Cubase 5 users, they are affecting a significant amount of users which warrants our full attention and concern. These issues are not simply a matter of making changes to the code of Submersible Music products to fix the issues, as they require some input from the Steinberg team in order to resolve them. This means that we can not give a specific time frame to a release of a new build of our products which will fully resolve the issue. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we try to work through this with Steinberg and will make updates to the forum and our website as information becomes available.

Thanks,

Submersible Music

fyi - breaking news. for kicks i decided to try DC3 again and it just worked!!! Here is what I did differently from last night

1) put windows updates on
2) update UAD-1 software to 5.4
3) in cubase I decided to do a rescan of plugins and update plug in information

and for some reason I just loaded DC3 for the first time successfully!

My database seems wacky as a bunch of the audio isn't found, but the plug in just loaded. I'll send this to submersible support.

however, after I quit Cubase and went back in same crash.

if I reload cubase and do a plug in rescan and update information it worked again.

Maybe the plugin isnt registering properly when Cubase starts up for some reason.

I wouldn't assume they have enough information to work with. Anyone who is having the problem should contact them and give the info of their system.

I did talk to them and learned that it is their number 1 priority right now. Again, I think if someone has the problem and lives NEAR Submersible you should DEFINITELY contact them. I bet they'd even meet with your personally at this point. It's an issue that I am sure annoys them as much as it does you - if you are affected by it.

Again, I'll let you guys know if we have any problems with it in Cubase 5 here. So far we haven't had ANY problems with it in other apps like ProTools etc.

As an early adopter of all this stuff, I think that I'm the first Submersible contact on this issue. The Update quoted above is actually from a thread I started a few months ago on the Submersible site forum.

I have been in very close contact with the folks at Submersible and have run something like 8 or 9 debugs for them which they have scrutinized. My understanding is that they got it down to just a single line of code when they determined that they couldn't go any further without Steinberg's cooperation. My further understanding is that Submersible's latest update on this issue was triggered by Steinberg's finally clearing their decks of other Cubase 5 issues and now being able to devote some time to this issue.

Like gmon72, I have also intermittently been able to run Kitcore in Cubase 5, but the fix is only temporary. It does run flawlessly in Cubase 4, as well as the new Drumcore 3. This is obviously a PITA for me because all my other projects are in C5, but it sounds like a fix may not be too far off. Maybe Steiny will release a patch between actual updates?

Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Cheers
