Any other plugins for mac that can do the job??
I've heard of "Intelligent Sounds Music MuSiCX" but it's for PC.

Not for Mac, but in FL Studio you can controller any parameter of any plugin with the Peak Controller (so I can link the kick drum to the low-shelf gain on the Sonnox EQ, for example).
Also, Reason lets you control any parameter with the CV out on the M-Class Compressor.

Our plug-ins have similar capabilies, and they do run on Mac: you can control any parameter of any plug-in that supports automation or MIDI control.
In your case you might be interested in Blue Cat's Dynamics or Blue Cat's Digital Peak Meter Pro. They will let you control a filter with an envelope based on the source signal. You can use for example the free Triple EQ plug-in for this task.
You can check these side chain tutorials for more information about how to set this up in your favorite host application (if you are using Logic, we have a brand new tutorial for Logic).
