The strings on all my guitars are overdone and rusty looking. There's no way I'm buying new strings if I don't bleed.

Actually, not really. But... if you look at the processing chain of modern music, it actually is.eduardo_b wrote:And you do this by chaining a half-dozen of them?Compyfox wrote:
EQ
Recording:
EQ used for a proper core sound
Post Production
EQ used for proper mix placement
Mastering
EQ used for filtering
If you look at a modern produced track from the last decade, I'd say an "overuse" of an EQ is pretty much normal. If you dial in like 9dB in the upper harmonic range for a kick drum while recording, and then another 4-5dB while Post-Pro... I say that you pretty much "overuse" that particular effect.

Define over used? If it sounds right it is right.

Yeah, but that depends on knowing when it sounds right.yellowfever wrote:Define over used? If it sounds right it is right.

No worries mate - I was just about to reply and mention it myself, but you beat me to the punch! HahaParadigm X wrote:cant believe dblue glitch not been mentioned yet... I've always said that the plugin performs best when used in a more subtle manner, so as to add little details and texture to certain sounds, or to render stuff through it and cut out the good bits for re-sequencing later. Just throwing Glitch on the master channel with the default settings will definitely result in some generic-sounding results, not to mention the inevitable smart-ass comments posted on forums/blogs by IDM elitists and other music snobs, most of whom find the plugin to be highly offensive, haha. Can't please 'em all!

Yes you can, if it's working in Cubase 5 actually.
Still much love, abused Glitch in a DnB Remix I made with Cubase SX3 and StylusRMX around 1,5 years ago (as exam) - got full results, everyone was pleased.
So yeah.

Well, that's really easy....eduardo_b wrote:Yeah, but that depends on knowing when it sounds right.yellowfever wrote:Define over used? If it sounds right it is right.
It's just the opposite of when it sounds left. Although, if you're listening in mono, I could see how it would be hard to tell if the music sounds right or left.
