I am hoping to join in the fun this month - I really like the idea
Anywho, a question:
In trackers, you can create all manner of chorus/pitch/spatial fx without using any fx. Is this still in the spirit of the contest? It allows for some chorus/delay/phaser/pitchbending that isn't a part of the synth itself.

Euroboros ... thats an interesting question ... if you are not using any fx vsts, but manipulating and mixing multiple instances of/signals from the synth itself, then I dont seehow anyone could have a problem with that.
... eg feeding two synths, with the same preset/sound with the same notes, but delay one of them, or pitch mod one for the phaser effect .... is that what you want to do? ....
mrblitz000 ... yeah, i'll take out that track

Yes, that's what I meant. I would only use instances of basic 64, with no processing. Also, I am trying to do it through the piano roll, so that I am not rendering anything to audio and manipulating that. Not that it will help my composition any

Ok euroboros, in that case, what you are doing is very much in the spirit of the comp

The fact that you guys picked basic64 for this contest inspired me to have a go myself
This isn't a contest entry, but the results of my train journey today

Looking forward to hearing the contest entries
EDIT: Forgot to say, it is 10 instances of basic64, 1 of D2 compressor and nothing else. Made in FL 9.1, using only the mixer track EQs and one fruity reverb on the snare

..... and further to that, HiEnergy has spoken!!!
... and the synth we will use in OSC18 will be .... ( drumroll ) ... SoHa Sonata!
http://www.sohasound.com/sonata.php
Cheers to HiEnergy for a swift decision, and for disclosing backup options should Sonata present difficulties.
But I sincerely hope this is not the case, Sonata has tested well on my system, and as well as producing fantastic sounds, is also suitably quirky, and has some limitations we will be challenged to find our way around
Hope you can all find a bit of time to check Sonata before the launch of OSC18 early July

Hi,
I'm making a song in FL Studio using the following FX:
Fruity Parametric EQ2, Soundgoodizer, Fruity Delay Bank and Fruity Stereo Enhancer
Am I ok with this? Or do I break the rules? If I do, please let me know, and I'll remove the fx that I'm not allowed to use.
Thanks
