been looking everywhere for comparison charts; can anyone briefly highlight the difference between using in Kore and Reaktor; I don't have Reaktor but I'm up for some finger;)
I'm guessing fx counts but how many?
How is this fair, The finger not for free Kore Player but restricted use in free Reactor Player!

I don't expect full Reactor, just full functionality of the Finger(only) when used in the player! I don't really get it, that's all. I knew Kore Player was restricted before hand when I bought The Finger(so I knew where I stood), but now that isn't supported I will move to the Reactor Player, but it's not Reactor being restricted that I think is wrong, it's The Finger ensemble that will be restricted, less functions(less knobs) on the actual ensemble that get lifted when buying full Reactor only, therefore if I want full functionalty I'm forced to buy a VST I don't want to buy, and I won't buy neither. I don't care that I cannot download third party ensembles or whatever else Reactor does, I just think full functionality of The Finger should be implented into the 'paid for' ensemble and not 'purposely' crippled, does that not sound unreasonable, it seems a marketing trick/con almost to me to make you buy another product that you never had in mind when first buying The Finger...thecontrolcentre wrote:It's like you bought a soundbank ... but NOT the synth itself. I doubt you will be FORCED to move to Reaktor Player. That's all I think...
You don't have to worry that NI is going to go into your system and remove the product you already purchased. It just does not work that way.
What you can hope for is the The Finger made available in Reaktor Player, to work alongside the Kore Player version. You'll have to contact NI support to confirm if this is possible.
Also, from what I understand, you will not lose functionality, but instead GAIN functionality, which is why they are moving from the Kore player version to the Reaktor player version. Make sense?
Still... contact NI to calm your worries, or at least give you an opportunity to complain about what you know to be fact.

Not something to worry about until september....at this time there seems not to be a "reaktor player" but that will change on the first of september. Nothing to worry about that I can see

OK you bought a kore pack based on a reaktor ensemble. the Kore player that you are currently very happy with using until you heard about this only allows you to modify certain parts of whatever presets you are using. The full reaktor synth can modify all parameters, create new snapshots (patches)if you're an egghead you can completely rewire everything to your heart's content, replace the filters with your own, add a physical model of a Yak esophagus, whatever. This is all happening RIGHT NOW. currently the kore version only gives you BASIC sound modifying parameters. NI also has kore packs for all their other synths and samplers too, and you can only do the basics in kore, more if you own Massive, or Absynth, or whatever it happens to be. All that is happening in Aug if I understand correctly is that your limited functionality will be processed by a seperate free plugin, that I can only imagine will be better suited to the task than Kore. Kore is for preset jockeys like me, not sound designers. and Kore packs are not sold to be synths in their own right, they are sold to be sets of presets that you can tweak in the Kore engine. same with the Reaktor Player, it's for preset manipulation, not sound design. if you have to get that deep into the guts of the sound, you have to own the synth.

You already have that. The Finger is a Reaktor ensemble and loads inside the Reaktor engine inside of Kore player. The Reaktor players version will just load inside Reaktor but without people needing Kore Player as well but for you this is irrelevant anyway since you already own the Kore Player version so nothing should change. Um who says anything about you being forced to move to the Reaktor version or the Kore version not being supported? You own the Kore version but it loads inside a Reaktor engine inside the Kore Player. That will continue to be the case - this is for new purchasers. Nothing is stopping you still accessing it from Kore.
