That Rubiks Cube preset is magnificent. I'm looking forward to making some ludicrous sci-fi soundtrack music with this!
Are RandomWave planning any other banks for other synths?

Thanks Sequent. There are a few of those PPG/VS sounds in the Avant-Garde set. One of my personal favs is the "VS Hologram" Program which has an endless haunting/digital character to it. Anyone familiar with Patrick O'Hearns work or 90s Private Music Label new age stuff will feel right at home with that one.Not a bad approximation of a PPG in that one sound on your demo video. Nicely done video, btw.
I've always been draw to hybrid synths i.e. PPG, Prophet VS, DSS-1, etc. which z3ta+ is at it core also. Subtractive architecture, but with the ability to use more than just the standard basic saw, square, triangle or sine wave. Those shapes are there and necessary, but you can really broaden a synths vocabulary when it can move outside that.
The subtractive signal path and filtering are a tried and true architecture. Mixed with osc that are flexible and a bit more open ended, then you get what made those classic hybrid synths so special and interesting.
That's from Journey's "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)". (A little gravity assist for those still trying to guess all the rest of the songs, which no one has figured out yet!).from where is this melody at 8:03 mins mate?
That's one of those classic poly synth rock songs up there with "Jump" in my book. I believe it was originally done with a Jupiter 8. I always saw this song/synth work as the Bride to Jumps Groom.
If you picked up the bank, the sound is called "Worlds Apart". Its a good song for hand exercise/coordination if want to improve your chops and its fun to play too. If you play in a rock cover band, it's almost a given you will have to learn this one. (Plus chicks will well-up and dig you when you play it for them much in the same way guys do when you play Jump for them.)

Looks really good. But is it easy to get working in Z3ta+? How do we install it in Z3ta+? Do you have to go through that whole process of installing the 4.1 demo if we only have the latest version of Z3ta+ to get this add-on working? Thanks.

It's easy and instructions are supplied in the download. Read them.t41 wrote:Looks really good. But is it easy to get working in Z3ta+? How do we install it in Z3ta+? It's a little nod to mid 80s TD style arp work, something in the vein of what you would find on Tangram or Pergammon. Convoy is like that too going back a litte earlier in feel. Pheeleep likes that particular one. That Rubiks Cube preset is magnificent. I'm looking forward to making some ludicrous sci-fi soundtrack music with this!
You should have no problem t41, all you have to do after reformatting your computer in Unix codebase and reinstall all your VSTs again is.....But is it easy to get working in Z3ta+?
Its very easy. If you have questions at all email me or post here and Im sure someone will help.

Yes, I was actually working on a different set, for a different synth but decided to work on this one exclusively when z3ta+ started buzzing again. Are RandomWave planning any other banks for other synths?
The next one is well on its way and after a little break to recharge my batteries, I will finish it up in the coming weeks. It's a little too early to make any further announcement about it though.

@ RandomWave
Not 100% sure where to put the two 128 files. The install instructions weren't clear enough. I have a Cakewalk folder listed in Windows Programs Files folder. Do I just throw them in there right next to the z3ta+ folder or in the z3ta+ folder which is in the Cakewalk folder? There is also a z3ta+ folder in the Reaper VST plug-ins folder, because I'm running Reaper as my DAW and installed z3ta to the Reaper VST folder.
Thanks again.

I shot you off an email. Not 100% sure where to put the two 128 files.
The standard path for the Cakewalk zta+ programs folder is:
C: Drive
ProgramData
Cakewalk
z3ta+
Programs (this is generally where you would put your Banks and Programs.)
Only Resources and Wavetable have to be in specific places. The Program files - .fxb, .fxp, .128 can be anywhere and will still work fine.

It was the weirdest thing...
Usually I need to listen to a demo for a soundbank a few times to convince myself to buy it, but with this soundbank, I knew I wanted to purchase the soundbank after listening to it for only a minute or two. The problem was that I had a difficult time trying to pry myself away from listening to the demo so I could pay for it...
