It's a loss to see you discontinue running these comps which imo you've done brilliantly Tattie, but all things have their time and priority and nothing lasts forever obviously..
I'll be happy to take over running the OSC, but as you point out it would better with several doing less, so speak up if anyone interested. As you say, there's much behind the scenes than meets the eye like getting support from donators and developers which is a big part of it, but well worth the effort as good prizes increases interest and quality.
As you say, end of year/your term might be a good time to review/shake up of how things are done, so let's all think of ideas and have them out then.

Late and in a hurry as always, but here I am with my votes.
This was definitely the hardest one to decide so far, and the fact that I say this every time does mean something! For weeks I was stuck with 12 tracks in my possible-winner folder, and even chopping down to that was way more difficult and unpleasant than I wanted
Finally, tonight I had to force myself to decide.
Harrowing decisions, but here they are:
10 points: FatalNoise-Bzur
7 points: Shmup-Edteneyck
5 points: GamesWithoutFrontTeeth-Yeager (funniest title in osc's history
3 points: RideOnAMeteorite-maxsynths
2 points: Polymood-PeterGoneSonic
1 point: TalMusicbox-archon 1024
But so many more I wish I could have given votes to...

Damn, I just realized I forgot to insert my vote for Yeager in the scoreboard on the website, can anybody please fix that? Sorry...
Thanks
Thanks

Fixed it. And yeah, incredibly hard to vote this time with so many entries. Bet it's the same for many and why so few have voted. I must have listened to all at least 10 times and still haven't been able to cut them down to 6, but will have to make a decision this weekend..

Do MacTheBionight realized that the last version of Noisemaker got a new interface that can be suitable for monitors that are not so wide? Check it out.

Thanks, that's very kind of you! Yes, I knew about it and it's perfectvanmorrison wrote:Do MacTheBionight realized that the last version of Noisemaker got a new interface that can be suitable for monitors that are not so wide? Check it out.
I still have the one-audio-channel-only bug, but I've solved that by placing a stereo field narrower immediately after the instrument, so now I can use it
I've already made a track with it (Berlin School stuff, more or less)

All you hear - except for the pseudo-acoustic drums and the mellotron sounds - is Noisemaker. I'm sure that when I have time to really get to know it, squeezing awesome sounds out of it will be a joy and a lot of fun!

That's cool Mac, especially the semi-heavy riffing with the drum part.

Didn't have time to wander about reading this thread, sorry.
Hope KVR OSC fans are still allowed to vote.
In my (h)opinion the next 5 tracks are some of the best in this OSC contest.
1: Cubensick & uiiuiiu - sick of this noise ::::: 10
2: Yeager - games without front teeth ::::::::::: 7
3: MaxSynths - ride on a meteorite :::::::::::::: 5
4: Totolitoto - Talosc :::::::::::::::::::::::::: 3
5: bzur - faTAL noise ::::::::::::::::::::::::::: 2
6: edteneyck - Shmup :::::::::::::::::::::::::::: 1
Comments: good vs. bad
1: Tight parts, punch, love the noize jam, cool synth sounds, overall good sound. Bass a bit imbalanced or loud, kick a bit too clicky and clean, some synths or overall sound with a bit of overpresence (~2-4K)
2: Pleasant balance, diverse melodic themes, nice overall feel. A bit too much reverb, Melodic jam too diverse at some point, needs more diversity on the percs/beat. Beat/kick gets lost in the mix at some point.
3: Interesting "80's fantasy feel"? , Love the snappy snare arp plucks. Overallsound needs less reverb in exchance for some loudness and some tonal tweaks, a bit cheesy lead dominance
4: Like the oveall feel and atmo As far as I can recall, you can do better than this, improper treatment for the low-mids causes muddiness @ ~ 300-600Hz which is eating your headroom causing tonal imbalance.
5: Love the overall mood and frozen feel, cool sounds.
Needs to be better mixed and mastered.
6: Like the tune and the arp "vortex", cool sounds. More isn't less, tonal imbalance, blured stereo image. Reverbs need special attention too.
Notes: There are some good tracks that I didn't vote for because the were either too compressed or too splashy (too much reverb) .. or had some enoying leads/sounds that... enoyed me
Good luck to all and sorry if you didn't get picked! (that could be also because I didn't had more time to relisten to all tracks a couple of times)

Compression is a problem for me, too, but not just here, it's in general. The quality of the tracks, however, made me very glad I didn't have time to partecipate/meet the deadline... I simply wouldn't have been able to compete! Truly great stuff.
Thanks for the comment, V'ger - it was a sort of quick, spur-of-the-moment track, I guess all the tension I've been feeling of late (going better now, though) just went into it... it's more a photograph than it is music, really.

Thank you all for the votes, not bad for my first OSC
(I know the tune is a bit short
, but has been composed in a rush just for fun
).
Hey Tattie, sad to hear the bad news
BTW thank you for the OSC!

Hmmm.. I recal from the past OSC contests that we could scramble the vote points from the standard 10-7-5-3-2-1 as long as it equals 28.
I also am aware that I need to enter my votes to the OSC site on google but there is no "11 points" in my case for my #1 pick... and I don't want to be constantly editing my votes post to avoid speculation....
Tattiemannie, before I vote on the OSC google site,should I change my votes to the new standard or what?
Please don't change rulles so often or you can write less instead
I don't have patience and time to read long texts on forums.
