If it's not elicenser I have no idea how to authorize the library.
I have a few errands to do, but when I get back I'll post more details on exactly how I authorized the library using the elicenser system. I promise you, it took a lot of trial, error and frustration, hence I can't remember off the top of my head.
Apologies if my earlier response gave the wrong impression. I did state that it was a gamble and I must have got lucky (for once).

I was in the same boat yesterday. I installed version 3 and authorised it but was unable to access the library or authorise it. After much stress and brain overload I managed to get it working. Here's what I did.
You can't use the existing layers from 2.54. So you need to go to your user account then where it says downloads and click there. This will give you a list of all your registered products and available downloads.
(IMPORTANT!! If you've bought version 3 you need to register it first before it becomes available in your download section.)
At the bottom should be the installer for the version 3 update. Just above that there is a download link:
Next open Independence V3 either standalone or VSTi and click on the preferences tab and navigate through the library tab. Make sure you choose the newly created "Independence sounds" for folder for your library. Click on "Save Preferences" button and re-start Independence Pro.
Now when you click on the load instrument section and try to load an instrument a window should pop up asking you to authorise the library. So it's a case of logging onto your account and copying the product code and then waiting for the response to be generated. Then copy and paste that response code into your authorisation window and hopefully everything will be working.

So that needs to be downloaded. When you up unzip this folder it gives you the layers for version 3 and a choice of Mac OSX or Windows. The mistake I made was putting my image files into that folder which didn't seem to work. What you need to do is to create a brand-new folder on your samples drive call it "Independence Sounds" or something. Next copy the layers folder from the newly downloaded product folder into that new folder. There is also an "Image files" folder but thats empty. You can either copy that folder to the newly created "Independence Sounds" folder or create a new one with the same name . Whatever - then copy the image files into that folder. You should then have two folders one named layers and the other named image files.Independence Pro Product Folder for Independence Pro Software Suite 3.0 Mac OS X & Windows
Independence Pro Product Folder for Mac OS X & Windows
This Independence Pro Product Folder is required for the Independence Pro Software Suite 3.0.
Included are the Independence Pro Instrument Layers and documents for the installation and activation.
The Independence Pro image files has to get copied into the "image files" folder inside the Independence Pro Product Folder.

Providing you have followed the steps I showed you when you try to load an instrument the authorization manager should pop up in Independence Pro asking you to authorize the libary.Thats the only way it can be done AFAIK.emtear wrote:but where are you authorizing the library?

Is this an upgrade version or a brand new install? You have to register the Software suite and the libary as separate items on your user account first . Did you do that?

Thank you, Kraznet, for your detailed explanation of the procedure. Most things you wrote I already tried, but I never saw the authorize library window. Nevertheless, I'll try your step by step instruction as soon as I am home from work.
I just had an idea, why the authorization window didnt show up on my system: Since I used the WIBU key until this update I'll probably have to de-authorize the Indie library using the keymanager before I can authorize the library with the e-license system. (otherwise it wouldnt be possible for YT to make sure that everyone only gets their 3 licenses) I'll check taht out as soon as I'm home.

I hope it works out. It's a pretty frustrating experience and I struggled getting it working until about midnight last night when it finally worked. What makes it worse is the lack of a functional YT Forum - it appears to be down anyway. But it's as good as useless when it up from what I can tell. Even e-mailing support is a slow and arduous process. I'm pretty good at sorting things out generally but even this had me on the edge of insanity. Having to jump through hoops in this way for the sake of copy protection gives me a feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach. Particularly when it seems to be unfathomable.lastReminder wrote:Thank you, Kraznet, for your detailed explanation of the procedure. I think this upgrade for e-license version .What happens to our pretty yellow sticks
Everything seems to work on w7 64 bit e version. It got rid of the *hd not initialized error* in my system.
you should not use up the activations on the same computer.Just use the same product code and response code
peace

Welcome to the club. I've been trying to get a valid library serial number for nearly a year now. I have been sent 4 so far - none of them have worked. Good luck to you.emtear wrote:but where do you auth the libarary, when i tried under the 3.0 reg it sad it was not the right serial, and now i ran out of counters.

My 2.54 works fine and I can't see why it needs updating as most of the updates are to do with copy protection.
Like I said on page one, £29 euros for an update for bug fixes is crap.
Why can't they just make a simple bug fix update without paying for it.
Web sites down too, very convenient

Thanks for your help.kohlhtor@me.com wrote:You have to dounload the Full Library foe e-licens 70 Gig

Really? This is crazy, why is it necessary to download 70gig although I have all the samples on DVD and HD?! It should be possible to change a licesing system for samples without changing the samples themselves, shouldnt it? Strange...
Well, I guess I'll start downloading then, this should take a while. However, I'm happy that Indie 2.5 still works without any problems. Despite all the installation/updating problems I still like Indie (and FX) very much, I'm using it since 2.0 came out and never had any problems with it (before).

Independence Pro E-License Sound Library für Macintosh und Windows
Sound Library Image Files
Format: ZIP Archiv. Die Dateien sind zwischen 3 GB und 5 GB. Gesamtgröße ca. 60 GB.

Can anyone that has installed 3.0 check if the "stuck notes on legato" and "glitchy GUI" issues has been fixed? (Obviously this question only applies to those that experienced these problems with 2.5.4)
