Grymmjack -- Looks like they updated their news page to reflect the 3.0 release.

Like posters above, I'd totally avoid being on the cutting edge to beta the new engine. Historically, they've introduced new bugs in their new releases, some of them total stoppers. And then been extremely slow to fix them.

And a look at the dead forum, with all the reports here, of people being denied access to post in it, is pretty scary. Weirdly, they do have a couple of people who are still posting who are broken, with no responses from YT. Like they haven't bothered to block them.

There's something badly wrong, almost autistic, happening here... :(

I'd certainly encourage all of you courageous experimental types to go for it, though, and come back here with reports of your experiences. :D

I wouldn't spend that money, great library (the bass guitar bank is the best I've heard) but they suck and with the help of my crystal ball and a glimpse of the future destined for the toilet 8)
You owned it before and got screwed glasgene? Sorry to hear that man.

I jumped on the fire sale over the summer and was happy with what I got. I think it's a great product (tons of of usable sounds, an FX rack that can load other VSTs, and comes with a convolution reverb) and I've been lucky that I've never had to contact support, but since upgrading to Komplete 7 I find myself not using it at all anymore.

Sorry I missed your reply bro, I take it you got screwed then with 2.5 or an earlier version? Was it the dongled one? Was the problem dongle related? Any info appreciated.

OK seriously this is the first time I have stalked a thread and been negative about a a developer but quite honestly these guys (Christian) suck !!

They either do nothing or take so long to do anything on backing up there products that you can't be bothered.. if you have problems installing the software then the best of luck to you. its 50/50 you may get something sorted or you may not.

Christian cannot cope with the support for his product, as far as I can tell he and him alone focuses on the development and keeping the sales going by doing these specials.

There's a history for developers like this .. (Key To Sound and Kjaerhus)

Buy Kontakt and some third parties.. trust me its safer money

Thanks for your tip GreyLion, it's enough money to make me worried about spending it on the wrong thing. I didn't realize they were blocking members from posting in their forum.

:hihi: You aren't being a very good devils advocate with your honest buyer beware :) I appreciate that though. Thanks.

Ah. Here's the most interesting paragraph in their news release:

Since the development for this new version was very time and technology extensive we cannot give it to our users for free - but we offer the update for a very favorable price and additionally a very generous Grace Period:
ALL user who have ANY version of ANY commercial yellow tools product or Engine powered product registered can purchase the Independence Pro Software Suite 3.0 for only 29.00 EUR incl. VAT! This means that even users of any yellow tools download instrument can purchase the update.
Additionally we offer the Independence Pro Software Suite 3.0 for FREE to all users who registered the following products AFTER July 1st 2010: Independence Pro, Independence Basic, Candy, Culture, Majestic.
To request for your free update please send a copy of your registration confirmation email with the subject "free update request" to the yellow tools support - you will immediately receive your serial number for version 3.0.
Since the Independence Pro Software Suite is coming with an entirely new architecture and structure, a completely new installation is required. You will find a detailed update guide PDF with all information about the installation process of your existing products on the start page of the User Area.

This means that those who've got the old product or who have any of the instrument packs can be our lab rats for this experiment for the low, low price of $30 Euros. If you bought after July 1, you can do it for free.

I actually find this pricing structure a little terrifying. Too good to be true, and all that. Unless they're trying to make up for all their screw-ups this year, and rescue their business.

Probably best to quit trying to read thier minds at this point. There's definitely stuff going on behind the scenes here.

Thanks, I'll refrain then. You just saved me some money (and probably a fight with the missus).

Have they taken a page from the Abes book and issued a public apology or anything like that? Guessing from the sentiment here they have not, but worth a shot...

I'm guessing we manage the deauthorization process, so we keep the 3 in rotation?
I wouldn't count on this being true unless something has changed in V3. The system as of Indy V2.54 doesn't recognise the computer footprint so un-installing doesn't de- activate an authorization like for example Native Instruments would. So you have to then contact support to request new activations.

Oh, Christ. Not Babya again. I once started a thread here on him that ran on for, it seemed, hundreds of pages. Ack.

But it does kinda seem like his style here, doesn't it...

Minus the paintbrush.exe 8bit graphics, and evangelism of decade old features like "colored note piano roll",

Whatever happened to good old Babya anyway? Those were some fun days @ KVR, miss a lot of the Babya thread era folks around here today.

:) yeah it seems to be this time of year the negotiations arise :!:

there's another guy who has posted here "zombiewoof" I think he has had big issues as well.

Great library shame about the company , I found Kontakt easier to navigate but that might just be me.

Well, their forum is now down. Interesting.
