What kind of copy protection does it use, if it is challenge/response does Roland/Edirol still got a server running as the product is discontinued?

I don't remember.

This. But I've always been impressed by the sound of Edirol for some reason. Even though it is old and isn't very big in size (I think it weighs in at under 100mb), I like some of the sounds on it much better than Kontakt's factory library. Very "plug-n-play" sounding. Its a shame its not for sale (and neither is Hyper Canvas, which is also from Edirol but for more synthy stuff)

Uh... Since you are quoting this... Out of coincidence some days ago I pubblished an album called Soundtracks; one of the tracks has been produced with the 32MB custom library for Akai I was talking about. This:

I remember watching some youtube video with a guy presenting the "freeware" Edirol Orchestral and even had a link to the installer. Looking to try it I followed the download link but it looked a lot like a cracked release. I searched on Roland's website for a legit free download but without success :(
I don't know if the guy really believed that was a freeware

There definitely isn't a freeware release, but by now they could just as well make it freeware in my opinion.

Post

I would love if it was freeware.
