Just checking out Zen for the first time - looks pretty cool!!

I'm on Mac using build 1.5.3, got a question:

Have enabled a few plugins (Zebra, TAL Elec7ro, ACE) but wondering why I'm being asked to locate the VST files ... because they're always in this folder:

/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST/...

(or the user home folder equivalent). And the plugin file name should be known already e.g. Zebra2.vst. Seems like an extra, unnecessary step :)

Also in Live 8.2.1 on Mac:

When the Zen window has focus I can use the computer keyboard to send notes to the selected preset plugin. After clicking the actual plugin interface (in this case Zebra), the Zen interface remains on top but the computer keyboard notes are no longer passed through to the plugin.

Yes you're right about locating the plugin - it's on my list of features for 'someday'.

I'll check this thing about keyboard focus (another real PITA, actually)

Another idea: would be nice if the list of preset matches updated in real time while typing.

The search box needs an "X" to cancel the current search term. Currently have to select text, delete and then hit return which is several steps too many.

Anyway ... nice work! ... certainly not complaining :)

Damn ! It does on PC...

Done in the latest beta, with a lot more improvements.

ZenPunkHippy, I've just released the 1.6 beta2 for Mac too.

BTW, Zen just passed the bar of 30000 presets today.

I just tried the 1.6 beta2 upgrade from 1.4. I appear to have two immediate problems: The Rhino CM presets started downloading despite that VST not being selected for use (nor is it installed on my PC), and I get a message about the zen.log file not being found.

I've just uploaded 1.6 beta 3:

* All users can now activate any plugin locally. For designers, the first preset uploaded for a local plugin makes this plugin public
* Replaced "hidden" and "favorites" tags by icons
* Add presets comments to the ZenCore engine
* Better design for the presets sort option
* Add shopping cart icon
* Zen will now silently ignore duplicate warnings happening within a few ms
* Add mousewheel on preset name to scroll through presets
* Fixed crash when trying to apply a tag without first selecting a preset
* Fixed bug when using full-text with ' character
* Fixed (for the last time:)) the problem with Zen not exiting properly.

I'm sure you will agree, the first point marks a turning point in the history of releases, and means the end of Zenification requests.

I have merged the updater and the full install, to limit the risk of errors like last time. Just run the full installer, it will ask you if you want to update. Have faith, or backup your zendb.s3db file first if you want to be careful :)

Well, installer worked perfect as an updater.
Actually, I backup the whole folder just in case :)
