I just found a great new site that has everything that anyone could ever want to know about Edwin 'Major' Armstrong.

Seriously folks, this guy is at least as important as Edison or Marconi. If you don't like reading obscure tech journals and old patents, look up Ken Burns' 'Empire of the Air' for a dramatic retelling of his sad but triumphant story. They have it streaming it on Netflix, and you can also find it on Youtube (I think).
