[using ET] I have found that the same material at eg., A=436 has a different vibe than A=440, A=432 quite a bit more so, and I find this new A=442 intolerable. I find the claims that ET is going to produce the same colors across the board to be false. This seems to me to be a pianist's opinion; I have done faithful covers of Hendrix and found that being really faithful to get the effects meant tuning it at his tonic, which in many cases is around a half step down from standard.

Relationships at a given pitch level vs at another pitch level (outside of any consideration of temperament) can be quite different in affect.
