No no no. Everyone knows when you make Trance you have to do it with FL Studio and an Access Virus. If you try to use anything else you'll be beaten to death with glow-sticks and ecstasy-covered pacifiers.

Don't become a statistic, save a life and use the Fruity DAW.

Sorry! I forgot about that :hihi:

Why should they worry, I mean, come on, Deadmau5 uses it! :hihi:

IIRC the Access TI ("Trance Instrument") was made specifically to integrate with FL Studio. Pretty sure someone famous beta'd it.

Well, i'm an FL Studio user and VERY proud to say so. I'm not a warez kiddy or someone that jumps on the bandwagon because they think it's cool. It works for me, other DAWS didn't so I invested in FL Studio and it does everything I need, whether I am writing dance music, Trance, Ambient or using it for more traditional piano/strings and choir combinations.

Your host is YOUR host - forget what everyone else says about it - it's what YOU use it for and can get out of it that matters and yes, lots of "PROS" use it but not just in any 1 genre.

Everyone else has said it - that are sensible on here - choose a host because it is right for you and fits YOUR workflow. That's what I did and I can't see anything changing my mind for the near future - after all, people still write pretty good stuff using the C64 or Amiga and trackers, you only get out what you put in.

See.... I told you this could be fun :D

By the way, I'm a 'Cubase 6' user, so, I don't use FL10, but I read a lot about FL10 in various music tech magazines, and on the web.

I feel FL10 is a unique, and quite powerful DAW for any type of music.

I also notice that many of the Trance tracks produced using FL10 sound very good, not that it is a Trance-Specific DAW, but it must have some features that seem to appeal to Trance producers. Could be its workflow, instruments, editing, ...etc.

My point is that I noticied FL10 is quite popular with Trance producers, that doesn't have anything to do with the simple fact that you can write any type of genre with FL10, or Cubase 6, Reason, Logic Pro, Sonar, ....etc. etc.

I just felt like this could be a place to get a feel for what I have observed, and noticed regarding FL10, and Trance Music Producers. FL10 can be used to make any kind music genre. So, I totally know what a DAW is, and what type of music one can produce with any DAW, is completely up to the DAW user.

So, simply put, if anyone here at KVR, has a good and interesting point regarding why FL10 is so popular with Trance Producers, please I'm all ears, otherwise, please let's not keep looping around with statements like :

'just use the DAW you feel comfortable with' because, that was not what this thread is all about, I have been using DAWs for a long time. and I did not ask for advice as to what DAW to use if I wanted to make Trance, or if FL10 would be the best DAW for me, if I felt like producing Trance music, ...etc. etc.

Thanks, and let's have fun !

Same here! I'm very proud of using FL Studio. In fact, if mighty, highly advanced extraterrestrials came to my house looking for the ultimate host software, I wouldn't think about Cubase, or Sonar, or any other host software, I would straight up hand them a copy of FL Studio. :D

...of course, handing out "host" software to any kind of extraterrestrial, no matter how peace-seeking they may seem to be, is prolly a bad idea.

You still have not provided any facts that FL10 is popular with Commercial Trance Producers over any other sequencer.

Thrillseekers use Cubase while 7 Skies, BT, Paul Van Dyk use Logic

DeadMau5 is apparently (a) using Ableton Live and Cubase now and (b) is not a Trance Producer [he write House music]

If you have no desire to use FL10 then it seems you more created this thread to troll.. or to stir the pot.. and how it is churning now..

Vitamin D, with all due respect, if you don't have anything useful, helpful, or fun :) to contribute to this topic, please don't divert this thread into something else, my intention is very clear, I would like to know what makes FL10 popular with Trance Producers. I don't have data regarding how many FL10 users/producers/famous names use it to make Trance Tracks,, but it is a simple observation, maybe It's not accurate, and if it is not true, just tell me it is a false observation, and that its not very popular with Trance producers, instead of swinging around a troll accusation at me.

Cheers,

It is my business which DAW I use, and when I use it, and why I use it, and if I feel like discussing it on this or any other Forum on the Web.

Then why weren't you more direct or clear about any "special REASON(s) WHY they use it"(?), rather than:

As far my observations go, I notice that most Trance Producers are using FL10, although some use other DAWs, ie. Live, Reason, Cubase, Logic Pro, ...etc. but it seems like FL10 wins the popularity prize so far.

Is this a pretty realistic picture as far as popularity of FL10 among Trance Producers ?
... which comes off as needing/wanting some confirmation/validation for your "observations", implying they indicated a direction you were considering GOING.

Nearly everyone answered you the only way they can with or without personal experience making trance with FL, in the ABSENCE of concrete evidence to support your assumptions.
Your observation with respect to FL10 and trance producers is false.
They moved-on to "Beat-Thang"???
