NEXUS: Why is it so expensive?

We do not think 249€ is that much for a synth, which comes with 1000 factory sounds are 5gb sample library. Its quite in the middle field of the market prices. But everyone have to decide this on his own
I do not think you can compare it with 3Osc btw, since thats really something very different

I dont know if 10€ are that cheap for this one. Remember: What you get there is just factory sounds, with a muted layer, a different cutoff, or a switched on/off Arp. Nothing new, or better said: nothing which you do not have already in the factory library & could not be done by yourself in very few mouseclicks. Nexus² is not made for deeper sound design - thats a fact. Nexus3 will be, but it will not come in the "near" future. We are not sure yet, but I guess some years from now.

I actually got to say I wish I did buy that soundbank. Simply because I do not think the presets are as good as what is already included. They are not terrible by any means just wish I saved the money.

Not a knock on Nexus, but I'm curious to why does it cost more than any other VSTi that I've ever seen. Is there something in the engine that no one else has? I was considering getting it, but my wallet will suffer.

The only one that i've seen of this price is Komplete 8 Ultimate but I can't say that's comparable.

Expensive? Not at all considering the massive factory sounds that come with it as stated in other posts. Also within that factory content you have instant out of the box top notch sounds, all excellent too (NO DUFF OR DODGYY SOUNDS)for 249 euro you get 1000 sounds, a vsti which IMO is a bargain.

Expansions:

You get what you pay for, the sound programmers here are the best there are available, the price will reflect time spent and the outstanding end quality. Read the Testimoials section on the website. Nexus2 IMO delivers instant ready to use and up to date sounds right out of the box and at 249 euros well it's a steal. It's not a sound design tool, not for us people anyways but you can tweak it but that's no fun (GRIPE) if Nexus2 goes x64 as iv'e already stated elsewhere then im buying it along with some of the available expansions.

Those soundbanks are expensive. Like you said they are quality though. I just wish they were like half price then I would buy a ton, I can dream right.

Buy only the banks that suit your style of music.

There are expansions for most styles with the obvious choice of techno, trance electro/house.

Then you have arps, basses, pads, with sidechain and more.

Good point Andy however i would want them all haha Seriously though i owned Nexus from V1 and had version 2 for a while, still kicking myself now for selling it but at the time i wasn't producing and only sound design, now it's the other way round, no time to mess about programming sounds for tracks hence Nexus2 comes to mind, you just can't beat it for quality ready made sounds.
Even better still if Nexus3 will allow Sound design because i'll do an expansion immediatley that im 100% sure of.
Still at 249 euro mate there's nothing sounding better out there unless you fork out for a Virus TI2 oh but then you have to program the sounds whereas Manuel and other like DeJa Vu (excellent btw) have done all the hard work for you.

It's not worth the cost.
The price is that high to look more "professional".

There are better (real) synths for less money with presets, which are at least as good.
Sylenth1 for example (incl. additional sets).

I cannot give Nexus anything else than my highest praise. Expensive - oh my yes - and every time I buy a sound expansion it damn hurts. On the edge of crazy prices. But as sound designer myself I'm always so damn impressed on how high the density of quality sounds there are. I'm not leisure shopping for sounds on the ReFX site - but when I choose I choose after much thinking and listening.

I know you cannot call Nexus genial here on KvR without something start burning or exploding. But I do it anyway. Genial. Never regretted my purchase for one moment and it's getting used all the time.

Yes, he sells not only some sampled hardware, he sells his knowledge about programming the hardware and mix all together to have a easy and ready to use sound.

Thanks mate well those new added features plus what Nexus2 already has is worth 249 euros easily IMO.

1st of December can't come soon enough now.
