Z3ta 1 is the only, original, true and authentic Z3ta.
Going to buy the magazine tomorrow

Yes, the sound is quite different. Sure it has some general overlaps but the sound is quite distinct I'd say.sinkmusic wrote:Hi
As i already own Helix & Zebra2, is it of any interest ?
Z3ta seems great, but i fear it might overlap quite a bit with other modular wavetable monster synths ?

Thought some might be interested in this info
Is the latest issue Oct. or Nov.? Sometimes they come out dated early.

If you only want the disc check Ebay. I got the last disc for like 4$ delivered.

Sorry I don't understand your point?. I just thought the lovely people of KVR who don't already have z3ta+ might like to know they can get ver 1 proper serial code when buying the November issue of Computer Music magazine.Compyfox wrote:Arksun wrote:Thought some might be interested in this info
Way to go to be an early adopter.

There is no point other than in
"Cakewalk says thank you to all the early adopters and customers that supported them - but since we (Cakewalk) literally let that VSTi die out and recently released a new version, we give away our 'old one' for the price of a magazine"
I paid about 100bucks (in Euro) myself, boxed and stuff. Good for those that waited, a slap in the face to those that always wanted bugfixes and instead got a totally new version.
YMMV.
I'm happy with MY copy of ZETA+ v1.5.3 - and the ton of patches and mods that collect dust on my HDD. Then again, I'm also happy with the "Steinberg Waldorf Edition", even though there's the regular/official/updated "Waldorf Collection" out for a while now as well.
Like I said, YMMV.

What bugs do you encounter that make it unusable to you? I'm curious because I don't remember having had any issues with z3ta+.Compyfox wrote:I'm happy with MY copy of ZETA+ v1.5.3 - and the ton of patches and mods that collect dust on my HDD.

Not sure if it is out just yet. I think that those who have it already might by UK based subscribers who get it about a week in advance. I could be wrong.. often am!MaxSynths wrote:This is the auto goal of the centuryArksun wrote:they're including a free copy of Z3ta+, v1 of course not the new v2.

I haven't used it in a while since I have my i7, but I don't remember anything drastic. I don't know how it perfroms on a higher OS than XPpro though.chacka wrote:What bugs do you encounter that make it unusable to you? I'm curious because I don't remember having had any issues with z3ta+.
I don't say that I have problems, but I remember others having serious issues.
Looks like long enough if my box(!) still reads rgc.audio.kx.001 wrote:how long have you owned it, may I ask?
Then again - that is not really the point. Think of those people that got it prior to the 20USD deals and now it's "free" with a 6GBP magazine.
If Rob Papen would have done that with Predator rather than "expires end of the year and stops working after 1 hour", I'm sure some regular customers would definitely be pissed.
But... like I said... YMMV.
It's a "nice move" from Roland... er I mean Cakewalk to get folks hooked on to their game. Now if they'd only keep it up in terms of support.

its my point. Its called depreciation. The value of thigns go down, and Cakewalk will want to increase their sales. If they think giving away an old product will increase sales of its replacement then that'll be a reasonable course of action for them. If your copy of Zeta is that old presumably you've had plenty of time to get wear out of it, as it were. Even if you chose not to.Compyfox wrote:Looks like long enough if my box(!) still reads rgc.audio.kx.001 wrote:how long have you owned it, may I ask?
