God, anything with the word "phat", "phatt", or similarly derived words is just embarassing IMO. The Planet Phatt module was at least aimed at a demographic which would find the word cool, but I find it hard to forgive Moog's "Phatty" line. Seriously... I can't say or hear the phrase "Little Phatty" without thinking of teenagers in puffer jackets with "Mr. Spliffy" logos on them.

It was the personal secretary of Yamaha'S MD. She convinced everyone that her telephone would be better if it made more sounds. So that's what you get, a telephone from the 1980s just without the handset.trimph1 wrote:ummmmm....Justin...how could you?

It reminds me of the first Compact-Disc player my family had in the 90's.

I assume you mean OSCar as we're talkling hardware synths.Dogboy73 wrote:ImpOSCar? Love the sounds but what an ugly friggin thing it is!!
Anyway I feel a bit affronted as I own a JD-800, X-Station25, Fizmo and OScar all of which have been mentioned in this thread or in the link.
I actually think the JD looks great, but most importantly sounds great, so I can't agree with justin on that one. The Fizmo and OSCar also sound great but do have, ahem, unique looks. Actually the OSCar's rubber makes it quite industrial looking and look tougher than it really is. I could live without the Fizmo's purpleness but at least it's distinctive.
I also own a Taurus 3 which I guess some people will find ugly too.

Yeah, it's not one of the more lovely analog synth designs to be sure (though IMO, it makes up for it by sounding better than current CEM-based synths.himalaya wrote:Chroma Polaris.
