You may want to consider using something other than Recycle. There are a lot of formats other than Recycle that do what Recycle files do; ACID, AppleLoops, Stylus RMX files.

A Recycle file is simply apiece of audio data with pre-calculated markers where the energy transients are located. That's what ACID files and AppleLoop files are too.

Simply make AppleLoops or ACID files from your WAVE files and your DAW or whatever likely supports those just as much as Recycle.

Propellerheads comparatively is a very proprietary company, they only use their own standards, and in this case it doesn't serve you very well.

Less cynically they assume you'll be using REX files made by other people/commercial, or most cynically they want you to shell out for the Recycle app.

My personal feeling is that people should vote with their pocketbooks and stay away from Propellerheads products; in order to encourage them to cooperate with everyone else. However, Propellerheads makes great stuff and I can't blame musicians for using their products regardless of their market cooperation. It's a tough call.

Recycle 1 files CAN be made, but that's mono only. It's only Recycle 2 (with stereo capability and 24-bit) that is proprietary.
