ACID Pro 8

I use ACID Pro for soundtracks because I love the creative collision of tones and tonality that you can achieve with this program...

I was trained in a conservatorium,so my brain and the reponses are wired in a logical, analytical way..

ACID Pro allows to approach the creation of the music from a different angle and the results achieved are surprising because they are not the usual results that I would be expecting in my "normal" work...

So in a way,it's like being a child painting musical colours on the page...

It's really creative and as it is with children - it's lots of fun :)

I can still analyse and understand the equations, but the end results are really pleasing and very musical...

I love ACID Pro and I just wish that Sony would get off their butt and make both this program and Sound Forge 10 Pro native x64

BTW : I don't use any soft synths in ACID Pro and just a handful of VSTs....
No auto tune...

I still use it to get ideas down. I was using it as my main DAW but even though I have a fast computer it starts to lock up and stutter after 30 or so tracks so I'm using other DAW's to finish the mix. I do love the intuitiveness of it, so easy to use. I wish SONY would have stuck with it.

Acid Music Studio 10 is out, and nice price just $60/£40

Anybody know what the "90 instruments" included are. It says so in the product info at Sony that so many instruments are included, but no specific list of what this means?

I guess DLS soft synth is one of 'em, but what about the other 89?

Top of class items that help me on a daily basis when using AcidPro ....

1. The chopper - this chopper is so useful and I use it for music and lectures ... much better than reaper's attempt at chopping in the reaper's explorer. The chopper itself is worth buying Sony Acid Studio or Pro.
2. Track grid = spreadsheet. Yes, it can be made to look just like a spreadsheet. Leads to a major boost to creativity. My mind seems to work well with the innovation.
3.Turns off ASIO4all when leaving the Sony application running in the background - LOVE this feature - it's the only DAW that gets this right. I can watch a youtube video while having Acid open in the background and then return to Acid and it resets ASIO4all.

Don't use MIDI in AcidPro, so can't really comment on that part of the program but for loops and audio it's a very polished and slick software.

Wow! A reply almost on year to the date.

I'm not positive, but I think DLS soft synth is the interface to the "90 instruments". At least that's how it's presented in 9. You have the DLS soft synth and then a second list where you pick the actual instruments. If there's more to that than this, I'd actually consider upgrading!

Acid Pro 2 was an amazing idea generator. It was so simple and stripped down that it forced you to focus on recording good parts, there wasn't a lot you could do to fix things afterwards. Acid Pro 3 was still pretty good in that regard but Acid Pro 4 was a complete mess in comparison.

If I could find my license and installation discs for Acid Pro 2, I'd probably try it out again.
