Phazor, a phaser emulation from the Virus

Thanks, Adam!!
I saw this over at rekkerd and was going to post about it here, but then found this thread. Normally I shy away from most freeware plugins, but I love this one! A keeper indeed
. Just so happens I'm putting together a CD of good quality freeware synths and effects to give to my cousin as he wants to get started making music on his computer but doesn't have much money (poor college student lol). Phazor is definitely going in here and also keeping a copy for myself haha.

Very nice phaser, once i tried and tested it goes really good.
Very nice with CPU, practically +1% on my quad core. Nice sound quality. And a beautiful GUI.
The only thing i missed it's a sync to host tempo. But well, you can set it manually with a Hz calculator.
Other than that, good job!
Have a good day

Apologies for the slightly useless post. I'm just chiming in so that I remember to download and try it. Looks cool.

Sounds very good. Thanks a lot for this gift!
One problem though, changing presets is giving troubles. When I change to another preset there's a strong likelyhood (it happens often but not always) that there's no sound output anymore. Reloading Phazor is the only way I know to get the sound back again. It's hosted in Cubase 5.5.3 x32 on Win7 x64.

The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

have you tested Melda Phaser /or old Waves Enigma one/?ttoz wrote:bugs sound like synthmaker classics unfortunately. I am sure they can be fixed.
Which also means no mac version and i am still desperate for a good ALL ROUND phaser(big rock is not for everything)
if yes-what do you think? not for everythig, too?

agree on waves enigma-simply awfull...you knowttoz wrote:no to waves, no to melda. I like almost all melda effect, but have zero love for their modulation plugins unfortunately.
And they are the right price too. A shame. and such a great dev and support and attitude. I wish i LOVED the phaser and flanger.
having every feature imaginable doesn't mean it sounds right (imo). and the melda graphics are very difficult for me to use.
The auto Eq which is the only plugin i have from them, is much nicer to use graphically.
(and a very unique plug in)
as for the waves, the enigma is always one of my most hated effects from them. I actually call it "tin can in a vst", it is SO digital it's nauseating.
but I dont think Melda Phaser is so bad...
and finally-I cannot agree that all Melda modulation plugins are unusable...simply becouse I spent soooooo much time testing and improving flexibility of that Melda chorus

@ttoz: Do you happen to own NI Komplete or their Guitar Rig 4/5? There are some pretty good phasers in there which can be used properly in stereo (unlike IK Multimedias horrible Amplitube interface).
Too bad the friggin Guitar Rig interface is such a mess.
Also, make sure you contact Chris from Airwindows. I'm sure he could create an absolutely kick-ass phaser. He probably needs a few test files or audio examples from phasers you like but that man is a genius and could probably create exactly what you need. I'm sure there would be a good market for a great phaser for Logic.
@OP: Thanks for this very generous gift!!
Cheers!
