Nexus 2 Substitute

Any one have a suggestion for a replacement for Nexus 2.

Alchemy would be the most complete solution. It's got a higher RAM/CPU hit but you don't get anywhere near as much aliasing with the samples as Nexus.

it sounds nothing like nexus to me....almost the opposite to my ears....
nexus is in your face, bright, 'fat', aggresive,..none of which I would ever use to describe alchemy.

The closest match might be Steinberg HalionSonic (Hypersonic successor), but it requires a dongle (like most of Steinberg products). No support for dongles from here.

So does nexus require a dongle, what's your point? Holy crap..

I am sorry but I have to STRONGLY disagree on that one. I have Alchemy and really like it and, as I said before, I also have Nexus 2. There is no way that Alchemy is a replacement for Nexus 2. You would have to spend a LOT of time doing sound designs inside of Alchemy to replicate the easy to use libraries of Nexus 2. I just don't think that, for most people, it is worth it. I also think that most people do not have the knowledge to tweak sounds to get what they want.

Nexus 2 requires the eLicenser dongle for anyone that was wondering but they ship that to you with the product. I have had NO problems whatsoever with it.

One of the reasons why I love Nexus so much is that it DOESN'T have many options.
