I don't think the NI interface supports WASAPI. Which ones do?

I think Wasapi works with every device, kinda like Directsound.. You just need to have a host that supports it. Reaper does, for example. I think Cubase does, too.

I have Cubase 5 LE at home and a Tascam US122MkII... no WASAPI there either...

Some motherboards have issues with latency, usually its clicks and pops but its worth knowing what motherboard he has. Also worth trying another host.

I have the Asus P5Q pro here, no problems. Has Windows had a fresh install? Upgrades can cause trouble. Still worth trying DPC latency checker, could be a rougue network card etc.

Without Cubase or another host loaded you wont be using ASIO, its needed for low latency.

I know! It's weird with the NI KA6: with or without ASIO > same latency, on whatever setting. (measured my ear, so no idea if there's an exact difference)

How is this possible? What more is there to "set up" than selecting the correct ASIO driver in Cubase and choose the correct settings in the asio control panel?

I'll throw a wild idea....

Change audio to another of the USB ports!!!!

Switch to another, and do a full test, change again until you tried the ports there are and see if any are working better.

If being on the same USB root hub/host internally as the Syncrosoft keylock there might be something to do with that(or midi drivers interface on usb etc).

Usually in device drivers you can see at least two main USB root host/hub, and there are doubled outputs on each of these main hubs. Usually 2-4 ports on each main root hub.

I have used the technique to look at these to turn off stuff like energy saving options, and see that I do not overload 500mA load on any of them.

Simple test to do and it might work....
