Dune is so amazing, why not more attention like sylenth? simply the BEST VA bang for buck vs CPU

LOL Wondered how long it would take one of them to bring up DIVA !

DUNE is a beast of a synth, I have DUNE and Sylenth, and I often layer them, as they really complement each other well tonally.

I love it for FX too, laser sounds and blips etc. It's a real all rounder.

I'd love the distortion section to get even deeper too tbh, really messy, as it's pure tones can really get gritty with Ohmicide ;)
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

This..

..And this, if this the same "first unison note bug", what I wonder when I was testing the demo. Posted it here to Richard too, but he doesn't seems to care. And plus, DUNE steals spacebar in FL Studio. I hate it so f**king much :x These are reasons why I don't like DUNE. Sylenth sounds still better and the filters are 10x better, so sylenth for me.

Oooh, that does sound good! I will have to try that out.

And Diva simply cannot do what Dune or Sylenth does with unison, as much as I love the sound of DIVA it's not as sharp, its emulating Analog synths so what do you expect.

Do or can you use a midi keyboard though?
Something is lost when using the pc keys imo.
There's velocity, that doesn't translate well with pc keys.

That said, the only thing that bugs me about Dune is the velocity settings on the factory soundbank :) grrr.... just a little kitten grown but hey. I hope that is adjusted for 2.0. I'm hoping to get the full version when it is released.

Hmmmm, interesting. I wonder if a different color GUI is in the works.

i dont see the comparison to sylenth1 as being relevant either. sylenth is clearly a basic va aimed at dance, something it does well of course, whereas Dune goes a lot deeper. You can program some amazing real world stuff in it as well as more complex drones and soundscapes.

the MM is the key, but most ppl just look at initial gui and dismiss it. you get out what you put in with synths like this

IMO there is a bit overlap between Sylenth, Zebra etc. so people always owning some of this synth don't need Dune. Often people also comparing Sylenth, Dune to the Access Virus and in my opinion after a lot of testing, Sylenth sounds closer while Dune sounds more analog (Yes, IMO Dune is the better sounding VA).

I ask also some trance guys and there is not much interest for Dune. There are always the same recommendations for Sylenth, Massive, Zebra, FXpansion... No idea but Dune is eventually not different enough for a lot of guys.

Yes you can hear that in my sample too - I even increased the attack a little to make it a little less obvious, but it's still there. I wasn't sure what was going on but now I know what the problem was :)

Having said that about the bass though I do love they way the sub osc is implemented. You create whatever texture you want for a bass sound with oscs 1&2 and then when your down simply whack up a square sub osc and you've instantly got something a really mean bass sound, I just don't "feel" the bass and when I go to boost lower frequencies with EQ it's as though they are simply not there to boost.

Using the triangle wave does help a lot with this though and that is the way it is on a lot of soft synths though to be honest. Hard to get that real deep rumble that rattles your ear drums unless you use the filter as a sort of low frequency boost.

Having said that I may try doing a comparison of different synths and their bass contents, maybe that would be a more helpful analysis as DUNE if it is lacking is probably far behind.

I don't understand how the plugins you mentioned can be compared. I own Dune BE, z3ta+ and demo'd Zebra, and i have to say, it can't get any more different soundwise. z3ta+ for example has a natural punch to it, on the oscialltors, as on the low pass filters, which makes it very good for bass sound for example. But when using the synced multi oscillator mode, it tends to produce some weird fizzly noise. Dune on the other hand sounds quite soft compared, with not nearly as much punch on oscillators or filters, but imo very nice for pad sounds and arpeggios. And Zebra is a complete other animal as well, didn't demo it enough to be able to tell which is strengths or weaknesses are though. :)

I'm rather rowing up in the row of people who say that comparison is contra productive, but different synths compliment each other well.
