Greg Houston wrote:I got this working finally. I've been trying to do something like this for several months. I'd spend a few hours just getting frustrated before finally giving up. This stuff is way more complicated than it needs to be in Cubase.

Getting this to work required downloading and installing loop Midi.

Then back in the Generic Remote, in the firt table all the addreses need to be set to 1. In the second table all the devices need to be set to Mixer.

On a side note, Cubase keeps losing my Channel/Category settings which is super annoying.
Steinberg really needs to refresh the way MIDI is handled internally in their DAWs; it's mostly functional but it sure isn't as elegant and streamlined as it should be. They should be using some type of hierarchical view for sources and destinations in the port listings (instead of one long scrolling list) and allow MIDI input mixing into the same track or VI. External loopback shouldn't be necessary; it makes it impossible to render a project offline. It's ironic they're behind on this considering their history.

i did your logic tutorial (as described on the cableguys website) for version 10.1, and I cannot for the life of me get my channel strip fader to move.. ??

I'm telling you, I did EXACTLY (word FOR word!), when I open "Controller Assignment" page, the " Volume" parameter shows-up in the list in the "learn mode" part, but it never shows that it is receiving a signal. It says next to it, something like, "no MIDI connected."
I'm doin the IAC Busses and all that... I have 4 "engaged" (per MacHD/Applications/Utilities/"Audio-MIDI-Setup" app)... IAC Bus 2 is selected for output, Midi CC 9 chosen etc...

Why does it work for you and not me?.. there has got to be one small detail missing in your Logic Tutorial, which has its link located on the Midishaper product page.

Please help me!! : )

Sometimes the signal of the IAC - Bus signal seems to be not recognized - even the monitor in the MIDI environment shows no signal - even though MidiShaper is put to "MIDI teach".

What may help is to add a second IAC bus in the Audio-Midi-Setup. For some reason that one receives MIDI - at least in my case.
