Yea they are Malware.....are we really that desperate for plugins that we have to download dodgy synthedit plugins that want to install toolbars? This scheme of pumping out one weak synth edit plugin after another just to get people to download toolbar installers is really distasteful in my opinion. Yes I know we can choose not to install them but....like I said are we really that desperate for free synth edit plugins?

I can live without them - there are many other plugins without toolbars...Teksonik wrote:drtikov wrote: well maybe AOL and Facebook toolbars are malware from some point of view?

It's just an approach by drtikov to earn some money. If they were so good that I needed them, I would pay some money for it without the need of installing toolbars. But atm, I can live without them, I have enough alternative plugins.

Annoyance-ware. That's "mal" enough for me (and most people).drtikov wrote:A lot of interest to Orch Hit.
Seems this typical 80's sound have a lot of fans
Any ideas about next synth to do?
AVG is not honest by the way, there is no malware, well maybe AOL and Facebook toolbars are malware from some point of view? AVAST antivirus is also hating toolbars as well.

what ? you have stats to show this ? a handful of toolbar offer refusniks in each thread against how many who downloaded and voiced no concern.A.M. Gold wrote:Annoyance-ware. That's "mal" enough for me (and most people).
Regardless of all that, it's a vst that I will use at some stage, hits all in one place. As for any inconvenience of the offer of the toolbar installer, I would liken to being asked to lift your feet while someone vaccuums the area below them.

Toolbars are an ongoing annoyance. No, they aren't malware, but for an entry-level SE based sampled product, it's too much to expect that someone will have a permanent change made to their browser configuration. Even suggesting it, in my opinion, is silly.
Have fun with both the toolbar and the VST, though.

Silly, mmm, possibly.
However if you have good AV or actually follow the installation process, there is nothing that forces you to have the toolbar installed. Several of your posts may lead folk to think it is an automatic [no choice] installation of a toolbar and quite clearly you can easily decline the offer.

Yes, and this happens every single time drtikov posts his freebies. And its the same people complaining, who know full well the details.bob bobwood wrote: Several of your posts may lead folk to think it is an automatic [no choice] installation of a toolbar and quite clearly you can easily decline the offer.
Its all and all completely silly.

Think before you click - that's all there is to it. And it goes for EVERYTHING internet and program related. It really isn't rocket science

OK so I installed this. My antivirus didn't complain so I figured it was OK. During the installation process you're warned about the toolbars but you do not get an option NOT to install them! Still they didn't install on my computer
I don't get it - maybe the OP removed them but fotgot about the disclaimer?

Nothing wrong with orchestra hits as long as they don't break any copyright laws. You sell this for $15. How much of these money goes to the record labels, the artists, the technicians who produced the sounds?
The thing is that should any record label find out that you've stolen from them, and they prolly will find out, then you're taking the risk being sued quite heavily.
Nothing wrong with an orchestra hit VST, but you should definitely try to come up with some original samples.

It seems to be the only one available. I'm keeping this until somebody proves I shouldn't because of copyright issues. The problem about orc hits is that most people want those classic ones that they have heard countless of times. They are included here for the most part and obviously this could pose a problem. We'll see what happens but it stays in my vst folder for now.jobromedia wrote:Nothing wrong with an orchestra hit VST, but you should definitely try to come up with some original samples.

People who are complaining about toolbars are also welcome to kick ass of DJ Shadow with realplayer http://featuredcontent.utorrent.com/
i start to put toolbars to my music also 2 months ago, a little bit before him
Its a challenging world and new adware content is on the way , doesnt matter if you like it, accept it or not. But you can live without it , thats true.
