First of all working with treatment, traps, and possitions ,.. far as possible
As for ARC there is alternatives, not ripping your wallet, free software such as RoomEqWizzard, and a cheap linear measuring microphone such as a Behringer ECM8000 should do same thing, (thats why I dropped ARC a while back),...
I first recently found a ECM8000 very cheap, and have have yet to play with
things my self, but I got the advise from someone who had good results,....
Just thought I would mention this ,.. its worth checking out perhaps
I can't hear any sub-bass - will IK Multimedia ARC System be right for me?

That is true, I hope the shelving option will help.
But I am a bit wary, the sub sonic style dubstep you make is 'centred' around a pretty low bass. But yes, if you only buy a new sub and make no modifications to the room also, that won't help so much. If the position of the spekers is in a black hole so to speak, you'll be shoveling shit uphill.

True in context. I find the 7's awesome for recording and tracking guitars and pop sort of stuff. I've had them side by side with the 8's through and the is defiantly half an octaves difference between each of them and for someone doing bass heavy work that's a pretty important half octave!lfm wrote: The low shelving from 300Hz and below(+/- 6dB)?
Adjustment of tweater level(+/-2dB)?
Adjustment of treble shelving(+/-6dB)?
*snip*
With those speaker you don't need sub.
Point taken through, I hadn't realize the bass roll off was that high up, so matching a sub would be awkward. Playing with the trims may well help get them sounding better within the enviroment but you can't put back what isn't there to start with.
