someone mentioned it before, but Chordbot really is a great tool for composing chord sequences. I use it quite a bit, it's fast and easy to use, you can cut and paste and throw together quick arrangements, and you can also export MIDI as well as audio. The app knows more chords than I do, so I am able to come up with what I think are very interesting changes, then I just import them into my DAW and tinker with them. Chordbot is one of my favorite apps. I didn't mention it earlier though as I don't find it to be a "quick" songwriting tool; I spend entirely too much time experimenting with the different possibilities.

I picked up Chordbot and Pro Chords. They both look great and I wanted to see if the different interfaces lead me to different progressions. I think I will buy ezComposer as well. I'm going to think about which of these mini DAWs to get. Not sure yet. VCVCBC looks interesting as well.

There are so many apps I want to try out. Can these apps ever be resold?

i don't think so. the funny thing about apps to me is that I have accumulated so many of them that I never have the time to learn them really well. I mainly use them as inspiration and for sketch pads. what I typically do is only leave a few on my phone at a time, and use them for awhile, take them off and load in some of the others that I purchased. keeps things fresh for me, and if I have only a few loaded, then there is a better chance I will learn how to use it. of course once I remove it and reload it later, I have forgotten everything I learned. :D

Oh well, that's still fine since they are cheap. I bought ezComposer too. I think that one might get quite a bit of use. Easyband Studio looks to be similar to this. And like how you can compose chord progressions in a DAW style. Cool stuff here.

On the iPad (and an old sloooooow Iphone 3) I use

- Garageband iPad
- iReal B (chords only)

On the MBP I use HN2 and to some degree BiaB. Will move to Synfire Express and not upgrade BiaB anymore. (Unless they come out with some new SOFTWARE instead of another ton of Realtracks ;-).
Korg-M3, Larrivee LV03, Washburn J9, Bose L1 with Tonematch T1, Godin ACS-SA, Roland GR-33, Logic Express, Cognitone HN2, Melodyne, and a growing arsenal of iPad gadgets and tools. As for the music - ALL ART REQUIRES COURAGE ;-)
