There are some key differences between the two besides low-latency and CPU efficiency:
1. Side-chaining! (doesn't make sense for a mastering plug but alloy has it) so good for gating and ducking even in multiple bands.
2. Transient shaper. Multibandy-goodness there.
3. Exciter seems all new and much more aggressive with different modes.
4. De-esser.
Before I started using iZotope stuff, I never really thought in bands. Now I can't live without multiband everything. It just makes so much sense for creative applications.

Yes I know
I was explaining the difference between Alloy (a channel strip/mixing plugin) and Ozone--specifically why you'd need Alloy when you already have Ozone. .

Heh, well think about it this way, you're getting lots of plugs for that $79... Many do things nothing else does.

The coupon in my account doesn't have an expiration date listed. The upgrade coupon for Ozone 5 is also still in my account right next to it, so it would appear that these were meant to be the actual upgrade prices.hibidy wrote:How long is the introductory price for for the upgrade?

Izotope just knows how to design plugins the right way. I like their highly flexible all-in-one plugin approach, and they have a unique sound that's of really good quality (mainly speaking about Ozone 5's sound). I will demo Alloy 2 to hear the improvements in the Transient Designer to see if significant enough. Their plugins prices are low when you look at all you get. Their Copy-Protection is flexible with several choices. Izotope is definitely one of my top favorite plugin companies and one of the very few that keep me interested. Smart company with a great business model imo.

T2 Icarus is a must. SonicCore SCOPE is the most. As heart of studio it has my vote, cause XITE-1 is all she wrote.
