Especially when you've already bought and registered the apps the pop-ups are advertising...

That's an issue, please PM or post exactly what you are seeing there - if you have the app registered, you should not see anything about that app.

It's distracting... so, wrong answer. :smack:
I think Slash would agree too. :hihi:

Yet another reason why Jam-up Pro rocks my box.

I gotta tell ya that I am so damn tired of this iRig's feedback that I gotta get a real interface. Maybe that Apogee thing.

Hasn't anyone found a way to hack/mod the iRig to make it work properly? I'm good with a soldering gun.

For iPad, we've tested StealthPlug with Camera Connection Kit and it sounds great.

For iPhone, iPod touch (or iPad too) you can use iRig STOMP as it has active circuitry to combat this. Non-active devices like iRig (but not just iRig) are more prone to feedback at higher-gain settings.

This is spam, simple as that.
I'm not going to tolerate this kind of spam, even with free apps. I can accept inline ads, like with the facebook app.
But I got to say, having ads and spam popups in _purchased_ apps is beyond words.
This is just utterly unacceptable.

Spam in an IK thread
No, never.

Technically if it is an IK thread it really isn't spam when we post :) Especially when I can give information on a proposed solution being worked on but also (the new part) that it seems the frequency of the messages in-app have been reduced. An interim step, I hope, so I'll check to see if the other efforts have stalled or I just haven't been given information. Either way, I'll do what I can.

Glad to see your fan is working well, Mushy :)

Sorry, but it's like having a commercial placed right in the middle of a movie you are watching in the theater. (And no I don't mean for intermission).

If you pay, the ads should really be gone.

Likewise.

Hmmm. I tend to buy a lot of music apps but really am put off by any ik apps because of this sort of feedback. And I have bought some crap apps just out of pure curiosity!

I can live with the forum spamming, it's your job at the end of the day and you do try to help the receptive in fairness in the face of hostility usually However, In app spamming is a major turn off Maybe one day I will buy an ik app... Not today though :)

Just out of interest; does the Stealth plug use additional power?

My first guitar plug was an iRig clone, didn't liked it a bit, the feedback was very bad. Looked for reviews but could not find anything about the Stealth plug + iPad combo.
I played it save and bought the Apogee Jam, have no regrets whatsoever but its pretty pricey compared to alternatives.

Post

StealthPlug will draw a very small amount of additional power but like we recently found with iRig KEYS it will be minimal especially compared to other factors like apps, wifi, bluetooth, etc.

Post

Peter, I would consider the iRig Stomp, but only if I could trade in my iRig for its original purchase price.

I started with the Woodees instrument plug $19.99. It sucks and squeals.
Then the iRig $39.99 which is basically the same circuitry, and I use the term circuitry loosely.

I'm sure you know that when we register any IK product we get emails for all IK products right?

Yes, I fully understand that but I do not assume you would still subscribe or know about iRig STOMP. It would not be wise to assume you knew about it since your post did not compare the two. I think it is fair to say that we would not trade in an iRig for full value for iRig STOMP after iRig's been out for years and we announced iRig STOMP with enough lead time to avoid confusion/regret over purchasing iRig. However, I understand people may want an upgrade path so I can see why you'd request that.
