That's a way to cure it yeah :hihi:

I went about 2 yrs without buying anything, except participating in 2 $20 AudioMidi no-brainers.
But just in the last 3 months, I bought the IK Bundle, Geist, Amplitube2 and Viral Outbreak. Thankfully, they were all on sale or bought 2nd hand.
I'm surprised I was able to resist buying the upgrade to Komplete, but the only thing in there I really wanted was Kontakt, and that would only lead to buying more samples.

I really had to stop myself from buying RMV when it was being sold yesterday for 50 bucks. I''d sold it about 2 months back.
I almost PM'd the seller twice, but cancelled it both times. Luckily, someone else put me out of my misery before I succumbed :D

I must also admit to feeling that kind of relief.

In a way it's another good excuse for buying gear, your helping someone else not doing it

I've got no such problems since I decided to minimise my setup as much as possible... only to a few hundred plugins.

Just kidding. :)

What I meant to say is to a few dozen plugins. You just choose the ones you think are best, stop thinking about acquiring more, use every plugin to the bone, and know it in depth... and make music! Because that's what it is all about, right? ;)

Isn't that what we all dream of...

Last year i sold many plugins but still i got way too many plugins.
If i find some time for it i'll have to re-check my plugins and sell some of them i guess.

For a long while I had serious G.A.S. However, I found that my recent additions to my studio have really made my inclinations go away. After my purchase of a Kemper Profiling Amplifier (a guitar amp thing) I really felt like something clicked in me. Maybe I was chasing for that kind of sound the Kemper gave me? I really feel like there's nothing I really want or even want to upgrade in anyway. It's kind of nice and peaceful, yet I also no longer feel I have much to talk about on KVR. :help:

You've had such an experience too? :phew:
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Well today I almost purchased a Samsung 830 series 256GB SSD from Amazon, but when I got to the checkout stage, found out they don't ship to oz, so I got saved right there.

A good way to check the audio quality of plugins you're using is Budde's VST Analyzer. It's a great reality check to see how the plugins behave, if there are any bugs you failed to hear, and to cut the number of plugins in half instantly. LOL

And I use the "Sinewave test" for compressors, to eliminate the ones that produce too much aliasing, but I always do a soundcheck, too. The plugin could just sound right, despite the somewhat scientific tests... ;)

Wrong :D

It's a bit like when I do a new bit of diy. I consider that a good excuse to buy another tool. I treat music much the same way. Except I often forget to do the music.

LOL cyberheater, I feel you, mate. Especially the DIY part. ;) And I'm "currently" into making a high-end 8 channel preamp, for almost a year now. :hihi:

Next decade, I'm going to make a DIY high-end console. I hope I'm going to finish it before I go visit the eternal hunting grounds. :hihi:

Yea, it's like my brain stopped functioning for an hour, and only kept sending me one message ... "must .. buy .. this!"

I rolled myself a fatty to keep me away from it, and it was gone the next time I checked :phew:
