Is there any synth out there that has the sound quality of U-He Diva?

Finally a new Diva thread

I'm thinking about starting a thread called "Has anybody noticed that Diva is Avid spelt backwards?"

How many hits would that get? 8)

Where Diva's quality is known for is its accurate modeling of various well known vintage hardware (filters, osc's, envelopes, etc.) and being able to combine them. So if you want the sound of the old analog hardware, then Diva is a great choice (if your cpu can handle it of course)

However, if you just want a good sounding synth, or many modulation possibilities, or a more distinct "digital" sound, or use wavetables, or whatever, then there are numerous other synths to try. Too many actually... lol :help:
+1

Not much more to add.

...there's a synth by U-HE called Triple Cheese which tastes like a cheeseburger.

I don't think it is quite Diva quality, but I find the sound of MauSynth (its free) to be just as ear tingling good in its own weird, wet, slippery way. :)

Oxium does that too, it has a high quality filter. I don't know if it is as deep sounding as DIVA, but I has a very good quality high-end.

I don't have any other Xils-Lab synths though so I don't know about the others.

Another synth I've used that is quite good is Corona. Very different character, but the filter and resonance sound very authentic.

Largo has a really nice filter section, but it is a very different sound from DIVA.
Ha! My opinion exactly!

Corona and Oxium. They both have that "real" quality to them, like diva. Corona is especially exciting because of the unique oscillator section. You can get sooooo many timbres and it has that I describable presence. Just make sure the filters are in "alt" mode.

Can't wait to see what zebra 3 is like.

OP: Do you mean any other soft-synth, or any hardware synth?

A Big Mac kind of tastes like a cheeseburger. Sort of.

The XILS synths, Aalto and Arturia SEM are all right at that same level of quality of DIVA imho.

You are 100% correct. It really can't be the price at $179 bones. You'd have trouble buying a used MKS50 for that.

Perhaps it is the CPU hit.

Why you need another one that has the sound quality of Diva?

Only reasons I can think of:
- you miss certain sounds Diva can't do, so you need a tool to do these but with the same high specs as Diva - if so, let know which sounds you're aiming for (and perhaps redefine the topic title)
- you can't get grips with the Diva GUI - yeah, can happen with any synth, but you're just unlucky, as Diva is Diva soundwise (and there are quite some other synths with good, comparable, sound quality, won't list them here but these are just, eh... different)
- you don't want to pay the price U-He asks for Diva - sorry, quality comes with a price. Just go for another, cheaper one with different features and a different sound (as stated above, there are quite some out there, also with a very good sound quality)

Omnisphere + Bob Moog Tribute Library + Cytomic The Drop (when it comes out).

Tal Uno-LX :D

for definite competes with it's analogue sounding character!

I'd also say Xils-Lab stuff can compete with Diva...IMHO! :)
