I picked this up today after some debate.....I'm a sucker for drum apps, but always wind up disappointed. While this sounds really good...I do not like the user guide. I would like to see some decent videos of this being used in a real recording situation...I.e. record a guitar and actually be able to write a coherent drum track to it with this app....not going to give a thumbs up or down yet as I haven't been able to explore the possibilities in full yet. A cool app to jam on...I've just blown through about an hour and a half just running my fingers, around on this, thing and actually sounding like I know what the heck I'm doing...now if I can actually use it to create the parts I need in a,song...like a sequencer...that would be awesome...
Any advice on this, would be great....while I wait, I think I'll play some Avengers initiative...Hulk SMASH!!!!

They are talking about adding a pattern sequencer.
In the mean time you can either record small parts by using the record limit or not and copy/paste to a sequencer.
You can also create user pattern, save them with a decent name and trigger them while recording the whole song.
Also it seems that midi clock is not working yet, so it may be a bit difficult to play with another app in background.

MIDI clock between apps should be working fine. Some people have reported some issues with certain external hardware and syncing, though.
If you have personally experienced trouble with the MIDI clock syncing between other apps, please let me know or post on the forums at http://forum.drumjamapp.com .

I'll create some videos on this, but I like how you can "export" as WAV files so I can import into Logic. I solo each track in DrumJam when I export so I can put it into it's own track in Logic.Derek Buddemeyer wrote:I picked this up today after some debate.....I'm a sucker for drum apps, but always wind up disappointed. One of the coolest features on this is, once you load a drum pattern, you can click on the Randomize button and it generates a random pattern for you.
This is great for guys like me that aren't drummers.
I don't try to do everything on the iPad, I like bringing it into my DAW (Logic) then I go from there.

I was looking for a drum machine to get some cool patterns to use with beatmaker, but as soon as a I saw a video of this app i insta bought it. I don't regret it at all its an amazing drum app and can generate lots of patterns and variations which i can sample and process on beatmaker2. The sounds are really good and they are different to the usual samples you find in beatmaker and other drum machine apps.

ThumbJam is great as an expressive midi controller. Well worth the cash for the inspiration it provides, imho.cryophonik wrote:Man, I am loving this app! I might have to check out ThumbJam now.
