Regarding Genome - With the tempo at the slowest setting (30) and number of bars at the highest (32), you get around 4:15 recording time before it starts overdubbing at the beginning again. Of course, you could continue it with more cubes (patterns) and activate Song mode but timing would be an issue.

> I just have to disable Snap (default is on)
Ah, I didn't even realize that was an option. Where is that setting?
I was thinking you could do something like this. You aren't necessarily stuck with just a 32 measure pattern. You can create more patterns on separate tracks and assign them all to the same MIDI channel. So, for example, you can have a 24 bar pattern and maybe you stop recording around bar 22. That is your fist take. You have another track with a blank 20 bar pattern that you use while the first track is going. Then you have a 2nd pattern that is 24 bars that kicks in when your playing stops on the first track. You can begin recording on THIS new track. Then tie these together as a song.
Not sure how well that made sense. I haven't actually done something like this yet as I am still learning Genome. But it seems possible, though not ideal. The Genome devs have stopped over at the iosmusician site and responded to my request for a metronome. You may want to e-mail them about extending the pattern length.

Good idea, I'll write them today with that suggestion and auto-scroll, too!
I like your way of creative thinking. I'm always trying to get around something in life!
Snap is on the pattern edit page on the right side toolbar.
Downloaded Music Studio lite but they disabled virtual midi so I don't know if it will play nicely with ST2...

Alex from Xewton told me that Music Studio does work with ST2 but there's a memory leak he found while testing it for me. The fix will be on the next update towards the end of December. Really impressed with the feature set for editing!
Cheers.
Cheers.

Wow. That's fantastic news about Music Studio. It was one of the first music apps I purchased two years ago, but have pretty much never used it as newer/better apps came out that were more suited to what I was doing musically. These new features may actually make it one of my go-to apps now for sequencing other synths.

Nic from MidiBridge is a great guy. Very unusual to find someone who answers emails so fast and so kindly. His app has solved so many problems on my iPad workflow.
I'm glad to read your experiences with BM2. I've been on the fence on buying this app, but I think I'll hold off for now based upon your report.
I've heard good things about Genome, but it seems you really have to dig in deep to get the most from it.
I find myself more and more working on my iPad these days. It's so easy to pick up and compose, and the quality of what you can achieve is gaining ground on a conventional computer.
I look forward to hearing your CD.
