$99 seems a fair price. I guess they wanted to have a Waves branded synth but competition in that area is very high.

KvR is always best, when a VA is around ... zero delay laughter!

I wouldn't mind owning yet another synth .. good price indeed!george wrote: seems a fair price. I guess they wanted to have a Waves branded synth but competition in that area is very high.
Sometimes i need something fresh to play with. But when i hit download demo i was faced with a login screen ........
Yes, I get it ... the free one knob made lots of people create accounts and learn how to activate/install their plugins. So now when that big step was taken, there's no hassle installing new plugins ....

Quite surprising actually, but the world does not need another VA!
Why all the negativity here ?
Do you ask "why does the world need another car ?", too ?

It's just the "I don't like change" mentality some/most people suffer from ... they'll get around
Has anyone downloaded the demo yet? How is installing/account/copy protection?

No negativity at all here. Honestly, they could have come up with something more original. There are tons of VA synths out there already. Hell, even if they had come up with emulation of something great but esoteric, it would have been more inspiring. Elemnts looks like a quite basic VA synth with nothing to stand out from the crowd. The only noteworthy thing about it is that they did not price it at 6000$.rasmusklump wrote:robotmonkey wrote:http://www.waves.com/content.aspx?id=12081

Crackbaby, I presume the copy protection/installing/etc will be exactly the same (tedious) process as with their other plugins. Just the way you described. So get the Waves installer, install plug, register demo at website, open the Waves-license thingy and then good to go.
I agree to the sentiment that -feature wise- it doesn't seem to be anything special. I will check it out when I'm back home though, in the end, if it has a sound that's up there with the best, it might still be tempting. There's more to synths then specs... But then again, yes there are many synths out there, curious to see how this fares.

Or another Compressor
Or another de-esser
or another Gate
Or another Reverb
Or another Delay
Or another FSU FX
Or another Sample Library
Or another ... whatever ... ad nauseam
If it's a 'waves' it's gotta be worth a fair chance (at least) imho.

And they read your mind and came up with one quick. But all they could do in so short time was a simple VA. Probably used Synthedit.S0lo wrote:I swear yesterday or the other I was looking at all Waves effects and I thought oh, it would be something if waves produced a synth!!.
