the MIDI you'd want to generate probably corresponds to the MMC midi messages:ferez21 wrote:Girls stop fighting. I personally need it because FL Studio doesn't support custom key commands, and i'm not going to switch daws soon.

(unless FL can be set up to map a specific note or CC to its transport controls)

Lol, i stumbled upon this at google while searching, but i was sure it was written "Maschine" so i passed itwhyterabbyt wrote: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI_Machine_Control
Ill check it out, thanks.
PS idecided to build my controller around a Microsoft gamepad. I find it easier to translate the gamepad keystrokes into midi messages + i can finally have a real X/Y controller.... Still figuring out the transport thing though

if you still want to go the autohotkey-route, this should get you going:
MIDI Output from AHK:

Midi Input/Output combined, with SysEx messages fpr MMC messages:

You may be able to control your transport with something like this, ferez21. It has programmable key combos and works over USB.

I'm selling this one now on ebay, just listed it today. Ff you're in the States, you can pick it up now. If not, pm me and I'll add international shipping to the listing if you think you'd be interested.

I used Cool Edit Pro, now Adobe Audition which allows for assignable keyboard shortcuts and this is exactly what I used as a transport control. Clip it to your music stand and start - stop - pause - record - or rewind/ff to your hearts content. I'm sure it would work in most host daws. Nice thing is you can hook up as many as you need to the usb hub and they will all work the same. The same goes for keyboards too in case you were wondering.ferez21 wrote:http://www.buyincoins.com/new_en/detail ... ct-56.html (http://www.buyincoins.com/new_en/details/mini-usb-18key-numeric-silicone-keypad-keyboard-laptop-01-product-56.html)
Is there a way to turn this thing into a transport control?
It looks like it can perfectly fit the task, and all i need is:
1) a software to turn the keystrokes into midi(?), or into certain keyboard shortcuts, only when my DAW is up and running.
2) Painting the keys according to the action desired (play, pause etc.).
Any help with (1) is appreciated
Thanks,
Erez.
