As you work on this excellent sounding instrument, please don't forget to include parameters or parameter ranges which would allow to push the sound into new sonic territory. So one second we could be playing a nice acoustic guitar but then we could load a cool hybrid string pluck that came from Atlantida.

actually thought of a use for these things. There is a cool use in fact.
Backing parts so I can have a live performance without having to hire a 2nd guitarist in the band saving me $$$$.
I listened to the AAS expansions for their string synth and a lot of those sounds are very cool so I guess if you guys can get great sounds it would be very cool because now we guitarists will hear new sounds we otherwise would not have access to by limiting our sound generation to the fx we love to use and as keyboardists you guys like to use different gear to modify sound and naturally would run into sounds we would otherwise probably not discover on our own being set in our ways.

Don't you think he should focus his time on perfecting e-Guitar / Bass realism and all possible articulations?himalaya wrote:Hi cyco130

So, again, is Stryngth cross platform or Windows only, please?

Sure! Focus on perfecting these sounds...but at the same time what would it take to extend parameter ranges to include a wider range of (hybrid) tones?electro wrote:Don't you think he should focus his time on perfecting e-Guitar / Bass realism and all possible articulations?himalaya wrote:Hi cyco130

To my ear, what gives the game away after listening for about 10 seconds is a perception of "too perfect" pitch - not enough drift either within the notes or from note to note. It's subtle, for sure, but something you'll want to tweak or make tweakable.

The thrash [btw, you might wanna correct the title on that one, right?:)] demo is pretty impressive; yes, it still sounds digital and you can feel it's not an actual guitar played, but IMO it's way better than anything that is currently available. I'm not taking in consideration any Kontakt libraries though - I hate the concept & the format.
I'd like to have a fairly realistic guitar sound in a VST synth form. Like Rob Papen's RG - that would work /emulate well a distorted guitar sound; that's where the other synths fall short - acoustic/clean guitars are ok, but once distortion kicks in, they all sound mush.

Ditto. I doesn't have enough of an individual player feel to it. Something just makes it sound like it's played by a machine rather than a person. It needs all those imperfections and personalizations to make it sound more like the real thing.biomuse wrote:To my ear, what gives the game away after listening for about 10 seconds is a perception of "too perfect" pitch - not enough drift either within the notes or from note to note. If this works with my 32-bit VST host, I'm definitely interested. Any news?
