Thanks very much for listening and commenting, kryptonaut. Glad you liked it :)

I've had a few John Foxx comparisons over the last couple of years so there must be something in it, but I never really heard any of his solo music, or indeed any of the early Ultravox! stuff. Do you have any particular recommendations?

80s vibe. relaxed groove, enigmatic atmo, great arrangement. :tu:

I consider myself a John Foxx SME (subject-matter expert) and I don't really hear much similarity. Perhaps the others could indicate specific tracks.

However, if you want to hear a mildly proggy John Foxx solo album, I think your best bet is "The Garden." If you want to hear something very minimal, I would suggest "Metamatic." I think both are excellent. Note both albums have vocals on all tracks.

this has a lovely warm sound to it that makes it pretty irresistible

I absolutely loved this.

Want to echo other people's comments on the contrast between the menacing bass and lead lines.

Superb :tu:

"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

Well I was thinking of the the single 'Underpass' from the album 'Metamatic' - I was reminded of it particularly when I heard the section at about 2:00 on your track.

I'm on my 3rd listen today. Good stuff!
hypnotherapy is overrated
Frantz wrote: Yes, the percussion in the closing section is great and gives the track a powerful ending. Well done. 8)
Thanks very much Frantz. The percussion was probably the trickiest part of this track, and accounted for almost 50% of the "remix time".

First thing I thought of was John Foxx also - not an uncomplimentary comparison given the vibe of the tune either.
Great stuff Seismic1 :)
Thanks for the listen and the favourable comparison, FaX. Glad you liked it :)

love the 'perc build' opening.

then, when it's kicking it conjures up driving imagery. when the kick leaves, maybe it's a stop light, or a fork in road where a decision must be made. altogether.. very cinematic.

as always, the interplay of notes is quite interesting.

cool!

Especially around the 3:05 mark the track really started to hit it's stride for me.

Excellent mixing and production, as always.

Cheers Tim.

Thanks very much for the listen and the comments, Matt. Glad you liked it :)

For some reason I decided to use a set of different synths to those which I usually employ. I guess that was responsible for the different vibes on here. I really like the bell sounds that the GTG offers and the KX OMNI600 patch with the wandering tuning.
