Going by his thread the other day, on pretty much the same subject, he may have added them himself...

But, again going by that thread, it may be difficult to get much sense out of the OP.

For the record, Im finding that RX2 can be incredibly effective at removing noise and artefacts. Testing it out on a very rough outdoor recording, I was surprised to find that it was able to remove so much of the ambient wind noise that it completely exposed the sound of my breathing and moving, which I had to address manually. It wont suit the OP, though, because it needs actual work on the part of the user, its not just a one-button fix.

Use a larger buffer size if the clicks are coming from latency issues.
Use less gain if the clicks are coming from improper gain staging.
You should not have ANY clicks or pops during music making. PERIOD.
Amen to that.

I loved their vst pack back then and they had a really nice little known reverb also in it, and i used their restoration stuff with good success.. I guess it's an evolutionary update with cross platform support, and something i am definitely checking out.. I will need to demo it as i can not tell from the press release if it has a non fingerprint automatic denoiser mode.
Thanks a lot, Theo! In my humble opinion, Restoration Suite is quite i leap in terms of audio quality, so I hope you'll like it. And yes, the adaptive mode doesn't require a finger print. The adaptive mode usually works very well for speech and rhythmical source material. It might kill too much of the signal when processing slow orchestral string passages and similar, though. But, if the noise profile doesn't change too much over time, you always freeze the estimated profile. There is also a four band emphasis filter (low shelf, 2 peak filters and high shelf) that allows you to make modifications to the noise profile even with the adaptive mode activated.

@Stian:

Hello, neighbour!

What would you say the advantage(s) are of the Acon Restoration Suite compared to the corresponding features of, say, iZotope RX2? Apart from the difference in price, of course. ;-)

Actually, I lived Karlsruhe for 15 years... :-) I returned to Oslo almost four years ago. What I personally like most about the Restoration Suite compared to the competition is that you quickly achieve good results without endless "tweaking". DeNoise is also capable of reducing much of the noise without "killing" the signal completely (check out the denoiser demo on our web site - http://acondigital.com/products/restoration-suite/). Also DeHum preserves much more of the wanted signal than the competitors (if you turn off the "aggressive mode" - the aggressive mode uses ordinary comb filters like the rest).

I use Samplitude/Magix Cleaning and Restoration Suite, namely the spectral cleaning tool. Did a great job removing the unwanted sounds on a vocal track.

adobe audition's built-in restoration effects are great, the click and pop eliminator does the job well. usually i try to remove them by hand - drawing/editing the worst clicks out - if there are remaining clicks.
Sample libraries is my enemy.

Pops/clicks in the beginning of the note. The sample start position.
Pops/clicks in the middle of the note. In middle of the sample.
Pops/clicks in the end of the note. The sample ends abruptly. The sound is shorter than your note.

Enhancing the treble = boosts the brightness of pops/clicks.
