I really like the song, i've been listening to this over and over now.

Lots of variations in the sound design and song structure keep it really interesting. I have always admired Trents attention to detail in his work.

I think this is a polished track and I really like the "With Teeth" style of sound that is mixed with bits and pieces of his earlier works.

yeah, going to go to either NY or NJ show... looking forward to it. Have seen NIN twice now... and always love their/his shows...

the only think I have from NIN is some things David Lynch put to use in a couple things, and that Belew had 'joined the band'. This is f**king technodisco with that kind of droning vocal that didn't do anything for me in the first place slapped onto it. I don't get it. What 'band'.

Also the "band" aspect is him teaching others musicians to play his music in a live setting. I suppose if he wanted he could be a prick and just not even mention that or include them.

he's an interesting figure. here he's after making some money, in both cases. I don't gravitate towards that product so much. the EDM or whatever thing was a bit of a shock though, the only advance press I had seen involved Belew, who was pretty enthused...

Well with Trents expensive taste in studio gear, i imagine he needs the money to cope with his power bills

I would love for him to make a album like "Broken" again because it is so raw, but the times are changing for him. I just support him more as a musician who is out experimenting and I respect that. I don't think he is really trying to gravitate toward the EDM sound, but i do detect traces of electro-pop which is interesting and maybe more mainstream than lots of people want.

I really enjoyed Adrian Belews guitar work and i hope they work together again! He is definitely a inspiring and super talented musician.

I guess he would have expensive habits to support. I think the venn diagram of people who go for the stranger thing vs the commercial thrust is going to be pretty limited, and some trading an old audience for a new one could be the outcome.

Bit disappointed meself. From the pre blurb I was hoping for something a bit different (especially as Belew's weirdly situated solo on the otherwise colossally synthetic Ruiner is one of my favourite moments on The Downward Spiral). For me, NIN/The Rez has been coasting for a while now. Some great sounds, fewer great songs. Example, for a: parts of Year Zero had a genuinely fresh and cohesive sound I thought, almost a kind of futuristic sounding hip-hop slant... let down by a number of perfunctory tracks.

Since then, hard to argue for The Slip in either the song or sound stakes -- a bit of NIN-by-numbers (Discipline), some more of the raw garage-y stuff that underwhelmed on With Teeth (Letting you or 1,000,000). Ghosts, OK on the whole but a hell of a lot less killer than filler.

Still, this is pretty decent. To whoever said it's poppy, yeah, but NIN/His Rezness has always been a pop thing at the core, whatever the enclosing style. I quite like the more dance-y direction, it's just that it's all pretty familiar. Maybe I've just been listening too long.

Re. a return to the clunky industrial stuff, check out the Tetsuo: Bullet Man theme Rezzer did. Makes a lot of people wince, but I f**king love it. Disco night at the bomb factory.

I dunno. I think HTDA are a lot more accessible than NIN.
