Better alternatives are The Mouth and Razor. Both amazing products/Vocoders. Bitspeak is cool too but I've only demoed it (it fills a certain sound that The Mouth and Razor don't do).

I believe Sonivox shafted all their users when they provided absolutely no updates to Vocalizer since its release, including addressing host compatibility issues and supporting 64-bit environments. Now they want their customers to pay again for a bloated version of the same thing. I'm never buying anything from Sonivox or other inmusic brands again.

Razor is a great additive synthesizer on its own right, The Mouth a quite simple harmonizer, and Bitspeek some kind of kid talk box with resynthesis...(The only thing that I would buy is Razor!)awol9000 wrote:Better alternatives are The Mouth and Razor. I wouldn't call them alternatives to Vocalizer...
SoniVox writes "Take your pick from 16 Spectral Synthesis types"...the term sounds impressive (but why isn't the sound that impressive?). And what means "16 filter CONFIGURATIONS"? 16 different filters or only configurations?
But we cannot test them, anyway - because there is no demo!!
If they really had top notch products, they would offer demos. People would test them, would be inspired and they would sell many plugins.
But with this video and these terrible demo tracks, I won't buy anything from them...

True enough but it's vocoding abilities are satisfactory. Overall a good product for price especially if you can get it second hand or at one of NI's many sales ($79 full price is fairly cheap all things considering).Tricky-Loops wrote:Razor is a great additive synthesizer on its own right,

Sonivox claimed they had a coupon deal about 2 weeks ago for 50% off.
They tweeted coupons that did not worked at all (i even posted the evidence)!
Posted tweets about the non-working coupons did not had any effect, they replied (a useless reply anyway) 2 or 3 days ago when the coupon deal was already passed.
Absolute non-professional business.
-. posting non-working coupons
-. reply 2-3 days after coupon period is over
-. Does not offer any trial version of their softwares (Seriously, no trial version??? lol)

Vocalizer is less than $20 at jrrshop (not pro). Waste of money?

I have this in my account at JRRShop, but it was such a hassle to register it with Sonivox. I don't remember what exactly, but it wasn't helped by my inexperience with VST and DAWs at the time and my perpetual perplexiveness. (Edited: That is to say I never got it working.)
More curious about their new Pitch2Midi, but I think I got that covered as soon as Imitone comes as VST

I passed on it. As far as Imitone goes, I'm not too hopeful that things are moving very fast on that front (hope I'm wrong).

Yeah, I remember trying the beta version before version 1 was released. Must demo it. Thanks for the reminder.

Version 1.3 (Windows) have a serious bug (any DAW, both x64/x86 VST) - it crashes everytime you use "Chord Pad Layout" section :
- 1 when you try to load any chord pad file (*.smp).
- 2 if you avoid load function, but by tweaking default chord pad (without save it), then you save your project, DAW crashes when you recall this project (aka your project is dead).
I don't know if this bug occurs on other platforms such AAX or MacOS X.
I'm surprised about one-year old version, and I'm not alone to have this issue (related to another forums). I regret to have bought SONiVOX plugins (even promos from Plugin Boutique webstore).
Ticket opened from SONiVOX support, now wait and see... but in the future I'll don't waste my noney to this developer.
