Unless I've got things a bit mixed up, I generally find the reviews pretty informative and useful.

Ok, so people are more likely to put up a good review about something they have fallen in love with (guilty as charged), rather than slag off something that did not meet their expectations, but still...

Can you give some examples of what you find to be lacking?

i'm not sure that dishonest reviews and campaigns can be more immediately discouraged, as there are so many shades of gray, in ways other than by encouraging newcomers to be aware of it.

eg. by occasionally posting and gossiping about it

i think half the reviews i've read over the years were for determining the intent of the poster
