Your skin makes me want to play with OXE again. I can't get anything out of OXE but standard FM sounds. Can anyone get it to do the modern dubstep stuff?

lmao, fm synthesis is usually used for unusual metallic, ep's or sub-bass soundsandroidlove wrote: I can't get anything out of OXE but standard FM sounds. Can anyone get it to do the modern dubstep stuff?
80's music lovers will identify with it better that the modern wubbers.
you want an analog, supersaw, 36db lowpaass resonant overdriven filter synth
for dubstep....which oxe is NOT.

You're on to something here, but if I were you I'd change the synth logo (this one looks roughly cropped and slapped on), use (golden) yellow as background (instead of blue) and I'd play a bit more with the design (IMO it needs more colour...a bit of colour under the tags for more contrast). Keep up the good work

I don't know if it's me or what, but the classic resource hacker couldn't open it, same with Resourcer. PE Explorer worked tho. Also it seems like you missed the image for the pan values (Bitmap_4.bmp), but using Bitmap_3.bmp on that one too seem to work.
Great work. Looks so much better than the original IMO. Nice synth too. Maybe this is the one that will click and I end up understanding FM

hey cosmosis, thanks for the props, and yes, i did skip bmp_4 because its the same as bmp_3. and i just remembered the original oxe dll is packed with UPX packer and indeed cant be opened with resource hacker alone. DOH! congrats on finding a workaround to obtain your own custom version of this great FM VST!cosmosis wrote:I don't know if it's me or what, but the classic resource hacker couldn't open it, same with Resourcer.
