For quad socket you would need 4600 series, not 2600 series... And you would have to run Win Server, since Win 7/8 only support two sockets, and it is unknown how well, if at all, DAW hosts run on Win Server, or if AISO drivers will work etc.
...And Intel likes to charge ~twice as much per CPU for the 4-socket processors, so likely at least $4-$5k PER PROCESSOR in this case. The V2 versions are not released until Q1 2014 for these... Prob a $25K system all said and done. Seems absurd, yes... But some PT systems get up in this range, so it's not completely unheard of...
