I was gonna say "Traffic"... Cliff Martinez is all around brilliant but the traffic soundtrack is easily my favorite

It is worth mentioning, lot of old USSR movies and cartoons have good (and sometimes very unusual) synth music and FX, incl. made by soviet synths (above mentioned authentic ANS for example).

Names Vladimir Martynov, Eduard Artemyev, Alexei Rybnikov
About films titles, unfortunately, many do not exist in IMDb, and it is difficult to say how it will be written in English :)

a few examples:

Yes, i agree, it classic, but in a context is directly synth music, I would put in a sample weight of less well-known products (of other directors).

Recently, "Contagion".

Historically, the TD soundtrack for "Thief".

David Lynch's noise track to "Eraserhead".

Wendy Carlos' aborted soundtrack to "A Clockwork Orange", released as "Timesteps".

Wow. Great submissions. I haven't heard of half of these. Awesome.

Thief is my quintessential Tangerine Dream score. Seeing as it's from as early as 1980, it feels like it was musically a very trendsetting template for what 80's soundtracks would be like.

While not strictly from specific movies, there's a goldmine of stuff from the 70's and 80's music library meta-industry.
