+1 to that ;)

Just wanted to point out some of the ReaComp (and not just its!) tech options.

Now, what do you think about those sat/tube/drive options in DC8C?
Is this coloring ("character") better achieved with dedicated plugin(s)
(pre-)amp/sat/cab/drive/conv/tape/etc?

You either like it or you don't. Know your tools.

Well, I'm learning constantly. But I don't own DC8C, so I simply asked for some comparison.

like with any saturation, it depends a lot on what you're after and whether you personally like it or not. i don't know exactly which type of saturation is there and i couldn't bother to check, i just use it when i feel it's fitting the sound, and don't use it if it doesn't fit. DC8C's saturation isn't in any way agressive or very obvious even on the stronger setting (unless you drive the plugin). if you want *distortion* then DC8C is certainly not what you're looking for. you might want to look at SDRR though, that's another tool from the same developer, dedicated to saturation and distortion.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.
