SFZ will be the standard for a loooong time.

The reason is: "SFZ" is a "free standard", and there are free player using this
sample-format. So "SFZ" will be developed still, but it can't be screwed or
misused. :)

Proprietary formats like Kontakt "NKI" or Halion "FXP" can always be
changed and constraint by its owners - here Native Instruments (Kontakt)
or Steinberg (Halion) - very arbitrarily. And history shows that such
restrictions sometimes DO happen. For instance: From every
update to the next the terms of the use of Kontakt-Libraries change a
little.
