Happened to a pal of mine last year.
I have read this as well but didn't want to rain on the OP's parade.

The dealings many have had with this dev is the ONLY reason I have not purchased this plug-in. I really love the sounds from them but too many times I have heard (read) the horror stories.

I recently went with u-He because of the huge difference in customer service.

afaik you have to send the broken dongle to them.

So i have to spend over $200 again for a new pacakge? i thought i have my license loaded to my account/computer? couldn't i re-download the license onto a new dongle from wherever you get again? i have to look again.

You should attach copies of the emails from reFX (order confirmation, license, download link etc.)...

the license is on your (broken) dongle not on your pc.

ps $200 for nexus2? wow!

Will do.. good idea. I have all those emails saved.. I looked on their site and it states:

2.11 What happens if the USB dongle containing my Nexus2 license is damaged?

Very important:
Do *not* throw away the broken dongle.

Depending on whether other licenses are stored on the dongle, you'll need to ship the broken dongle to reFX or to Steinberg. For further information, please log on to your account and open a support ticket.

I never had problems with dongle policy but this case makes me think again... lost dongle, broken dongle... lot's of hassle. :dog:

ahhhh, i may as well save myself the hassle and time, and maybe buy a new USB/license. then just load my expansions from my account on it.. it's $299 for the single regular package - i just checked right now.

should have my gf pay for some of it, considering she threw my clothes in the laundry when I repeaditly say i will do my own laundry... Act of kindness, appreciated.. but this time it backfired. that's why i say i'll do my own laundry lol. of course, i left in my pocket this time. sigh. :(

how quick is their service? even if i fail at getting a new replacement in exchange, are they quick with this stuff?
time and my region settings are biggest concern. obviously, price is too - if i can get a replacement, great! if not, that's life. either way, i just wouldn't want keep waiting. In the meantime, I'll utilize my sylenth1 some more. if anything, I've been training myself to using sylenth1 more. instead of relying on the easy quicky already setup nexus presets. ;)

both are great synths..that I'll agree! 8)
