We are a community. I give my work away because others have seen fit to be enormously kind to me. These libraries (and others) along with musicFAQ are my gift to others.

That may sound cheesy but it's as honest as I can be.

Not "cheesy" at all mate. I agree with your philosophy and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

A big handshake to you..!

I'm just trusting people to be honest.
Hey Bruce,

Why not consider licensing these under a Creative Commons license? Might give you some extra protection from getting hosed by miscreants. You may not be interested in legal action if your terms are violated, but at least this way you'll have a clearly stated legal document to support your intent.

Looking forward to checking these samples out.

Cheers,
Steve.

I'd rather download instead of ordering a CD.

I ordered sample CD's from an American company 2 months ago, on an amount of +/- $200 I had to pay more than 50 € customs taxes! :x

Peter, I've shipped packages to several EU countries and the Pacific. I'm not sending you a product, you are paying me to put stuff on a CD and send it to you, I'm not making money so it's not a product but a parcel.

Again, this is theoretical. What isn't is the fact that so far I have been offered some bandwidth which is being worked out but it will be password protected.

The way I'm considering working this is having users request a proof of purchase from one of the sample based synths. This isn't set in stone but I will favor the following licensed synths:

Camel Audio, Cameleon 5000
VirSyn, CUBE 1.5
ConcreteFX, Adder
WhiteNoise, Additive
if they will cooperate, discoDSP, Vertigo - please though, take it up with them, not me.
LinPlug, CronoX

if I'm missing synths let me know.

I promised the four Additive synths this package, it is an agreement I made with them. Any other synth will be considered but if there are too many requests priority go to Additive, Adder, Cameleon and CUBE.

What everyone here needs to realize. Many of these samples are 1 - 5 mb in size, even if you use them on some synths you will need to edit them as several synths that use samples require mono or 10 second limits. That's why the library is so large. These are phrases and soundscapes, not multisamples (this has come up several times so I want to make it clear).

Nothing is set in stone. I have one or two sites that have offered to help out but I'm still trying to find a home. Anyone with a legitimate licensed synth that can use samples will have an opportunity to get them one way or another. For every one person with fast connections there are dial up connections that have to pay hourly. There is no 100% fair way, unfortunately.

As for the contract it does look interesting is something I'll look into when I have a bit of time to seriously read what is involved.

I'm doing my best to help, but I can't do it without help. It's April 2nd and I am already out of money after paying bills and shopping for food. The CD may be a good means, but even that will have to be researched as I'm not able to pay others shipping. My fixed costs are about $1.40 for CD, envelopes and some form of protection (jewel case, mini case, plastic circular, etc.) plus postage to wherever someone lives and the charges someone like PayPal or other money changers charge. We'll work it out, I don't want people to feel bad, if you want it we will find a way within reason to get it.

I love stuff like the guitar collections. Even as one shots it is great to throw those type of sounds into Acid or FL to give life to a song.

Have you considered some type of small PayPall fee to offset the cost of bandwidth?

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

Good luck deciding what to do. Either way I'm tired of hearing about the samples, I want to "hear the samples"
:)

Ya, same here. I am also tired of hearing about them.. I'll check back when a decision has been made. I don't own any of those synths anyway.

I use Z3ta+, Pentagon I and all the Image line stuff...

B.T.W. I own: CA5000, Tera, and Cube 1.5 do I get a cookie?

A system will be in place as soon as Monday. Once tested I'll upload and announce for real. Now, would it be easier to break the 108 mb library into two files?

It's a small amount of work although I'm inclined to leave everything as is. In my heart of hearts I don't want to charge for these.

The help is a communal resource. Maybe those with fast modems and a bit of extra money can help those on dial up. That will be between users.

Consider the case almost closed. You'll have at the stuff next week. Do check with your hosts as some won't import stereo.

Just to let people know, we have storage space courtesy of:

I should have things ready to go by Wednesday. Sorry for the delay, but there should be plenty of bandwidth for everyone. I just ask that you use these loops and do not distribute or record without permission or sample library credits.

Be back soon.
