Polyslax - some melancholy bits

Very nice and stark.
Stark is a rare kind of beauty, like a long and wide wheat field covered in snow and one frozen tree, leaf less.
Or the things left behind, never to be seen again.

Stark is that transcendental place that is empty but speaks volumes.

A dust covered painting in an old abandon house with only enough light to tell the story.

John Cage did a piano LP that was produced by Eno for his now defunct Obscure Records.

This reminds me a bit of that, check it out if you can.

I listened to these the other day but didn't have a chance to comment.
I really liked the piano treatment on each of these and the occasional riddims. Great work as always.

I think "Medium Still" is probably my favourite of these 4 pieces, probably due to the more "approachable" melodies employed, and I like all of the background chatter, whether from Machinedrum or synth.

I'll check out the Divertimental pieces at the weekend.

I didn´t thought of the Top 40, but some pieces of Saint-Saens.

But there are different Top 40s on Amazon:

- Top 40 Ultimate Bollywood
- Top 40 Pubs
- Top 40 Seventies, Eighties ....
- Top 40 Meditation
- Top 40 Christmas Songs
- Top 40 UB40 (1980-2000)

So you should find some inspiration

I'm just playing through the Divertimental collection now. I'm only about halfway through at the moment, but I'm enjoying these. I was quite surprised to hear a couple of tracks on here which had a more "mainstream" style and some of them could be considered to be "upbeat". All in all quite a variation of styles and sounds here.

Just back from a few days R&R in Montreal, caught a piece of music written for ships and train, opened by a cool band with drums, guitar, what I believe was a bass clarinet (looked like a large clarinet with a bell) and another guy I couldn't really see well playing perhaps a valve trombone and something that looked like a small tuba… euphonium, maybe?

Anyhow, hope to get at some listening tonight, thanks all.

I listened to the remainder of the Divertimental tracks tonight. A great collection of different moods and sounds. I think my favourite was No. 30. Nice groove and lead sounds. That could be expanded into a full track, as could many others.

Mostly Still reminded me a bit of Swod, who I like very much also.
