Phenomenal product, particularly on the scale of bang for buck. The samples sound great without any processing. This is huge since I am not a fan of Kontakt's built in effects, particularly the reverb and delay, and tend to run things through my array of VSTs. Being able to access the samples in other products is just gravy.

For the price, this is the greatest value I have seen in a sample library since, oh....let's say....Juggernaut. :D

Thanks so much. Looking forward to the new Juggernaut release.

Unfortunately not possible with the way it was done in the script. It would be quite a hefty change to both UI and the script to do that.

We're using convolution reverb here, though. You can't say that sounds bad. :P

OK, fellows...

This one looks interesting... I myself own a couple of Impact Soundworks' libs and like them,
also I know, that EvilDragon always does a great job on scripting...

but...

the demos are nice, but not enough to convince me...
the vid is nice, but actually it's just a runthrough through the GUI...

This said as someone, who owns Omnisphere on one hand and also owns several dozens of great Kontakt libs (with a great amount of acoustic sources and hybrid sounds).

So... is there a list of the included soundsources, how much is the amount of acoustic sources versa synthetic sounds, how much sampling detail went into those (velocity groups), what about a vid
with running through a lot of the presets and sources... damn, give me some reason, why I should buy this library, tell me, that it includes sounds, which I won't find no where else...

I don't want to come across as overal critical, but I'm really almost saturated with sounds for several lifes...
I'm just quite picky these days now, to buy another lib--- it has to offer something special, which I don't already have.

Anyway, good luck with this lib, I'm sure, you did a good job on this one...

Here you go: 218 soundsources total. Most are single velocity multisampled, but some have multiple velocity layers (like piano, guitar, koto, etc.). Acoustic category has 30 soundsources.

Thank you for the feedback & kind words, everyone!

Regarding imported samples, you can do this using the Group Editor & Mapping Editor without messing anything up - as long as you maintain a copy of the INIT patch :-) It's not the most elegant approach but it will work.

Say you have a nice sample of a gong. Pick a sound source you know you're not using in that particular patch, and then find its group in the group editor, and delete the samples in the mapping editor. Then, drag and drop your own sample(s) in there. Now, that sound source will use your custom samples. Nothing you're doing here is destructive to the audio on your hard drive, and it won't affect all the other NKI patches outside of the one you're currently editing.

losan: I think that is a fair point, it's always good to be informed before you buy. The naked demos showcase a wide range of sounds from the library, and I tried to do a runthrough of some of *my* favorite patches in the video, but with 550+ patches total, it would be very hard for me to show all of them. Keep in mind that one sound source can be used in many ways. For example, an acoustic piano can be turned into many interesting sounds, pads, stabs, and effects.

That being said, here is a list of the acoustic sound sources. I would list out the other sound sources, but as many of them are processed or synthetic in nature, the names alone would likely not be too helpful.

Now, the Acoustic & Hybrid PATCHES folders contain a total of 119 presets based on these sounds (layered with other sources). Much like how the Korg M1 or other classic workstations used clever programming to make the most use out of the sources, so did we :-)

Hopefully that helps, but I'm happy to discuss the content more.

Wow,

awesome quick replies...

Thanks to you both, EvilDragon and Zircon, much appreciated...
Also thanks for the provided acoustic source list, there's some sources included,
which I don't know.
Though... first impression... wished it would inclued more acoustic sources
(just my taste...)

Will have to think about it...

Cheers

Having played with it for the last few days now, I can say that it really is a beautiful instrument.

As someone who's looking for more great Kontakt sound libraries, can you please recommend some?

I must be too easily impressed, because I think the Celestia demos sound absolutely gorgeous.

And I didn't say that, did I? Why stir the pot here?

I just prefer other reverbs, that's all. I have some other choices that I think sound better. And I am glad that it is so easy to turn off the effects in this product. With some other products, it's not that easy. I have to look all over the interface for buttons and such or there isn't a way to do it without going into the engine. I was offering kudos, not a criticism.

I don't think the point is about numbers. It's about sounds fitting into an empty niche or enhancing a sparsely populated niche in one's sound collection.

The demos did not convince me either, although they are nice. I went ahead and bought simply because I had been pleased with previous purchases from IS. And I am glad I did. I think the sound design possibilities with this instrument are tremendous. It's a very flexible instrument. It's not unique...as noted, Omnisphere and Alchemy can do similar things. But, for the money, this fills a nice niche for me. The bell-like sounds are excellent. The possibility for quickly creating unique hybrid sounds are many. The interface is different but quite functional and the scripting is clean.

I can see where someone might not be convinced. I wasn't. But I am sure glad I pulled the trigger. Dollar for dollar, it's a good buy and it works as advertised out of the box....or folder....or archive file. Whatever.

Nice work and nice sounding library. I'm outta here.

Hi, Zircon...
Do you know how long the $99 juggernaught crossgrade will be on? Just recently bought it and a few other things so hope it will be going for awhile...

I assume this will not be included in the mega bundle...

Great vid...and am lovin' my "Juggs"

The intro pricing will end March 25th - the crossgrade offer will still be valid but it will be for $119 instead of $99. That being said if you email me directly (aaversa dot isw at gmail.com) I can hook you up with the full $40 discount after Mar 25 :)
